Can you get a waiver with a general under honorable to join the army I am leaving the marines with a gen under hon and want to get a waiver to join the army Is this possible?

Well, it's dependent on a couple of things. If you have an RE-2 or RE-3, it MIGHT be possible. If you have an RE-4, count yourself out.

You'll also encounter a bit of difficulty, as this is a time when the Army is looking to drastically cut down on personnel. All the same, it never hurts to talk to a recruiter.

My son entered the marines boot camp and encountered severe pneumonia and infected ears after symptoms ignored and suffered DI harassment and he now just wants out if there is a way?

Not likely. I had Pnuemonia and Mononucleosis when I was at MRCD San Diego in 2003. The DI's thought I was just trying to get out of training even though my eyes were half open and I was coughing up gobs of flem every 5 seconds. Remember, boot camp combines guys from all over the US and world and brings them together to share all of their diseases and viruses. It's nasty. Most recruits are sick with something or other the ENTIRE time they're there. It's very hard to get out. They take there time about processing people and treatment is not good. The issue has to be legitimate and pressing. I don't know you or your son but it's best if he can get rested up and finish out his 4 year term. He'll be a better man for it, his civilian career won't be affected, and you both will appreciate it when everything is said and done. Good luck

What do they train you in green beret boot camp?

US Army Special Forces (the Green Berets) go through the same Basic/Advanced Individual Training or One Station Unit Training any other soldier goes through. If they enter the Army as an infantryman, then go to Special Forces from there, they would go to Infantry OSUT. If they entered the Army as a cook, they would have gone through Basic and AIT for a cook.

You don't enter Special Forces straight out of Basic. You're first required to have been in service long enough to have made it to E-4, then you apply to attend the Q Course, which is the selection process for Special Forces. You can apply for the Q Course regardless of what MOS you held previously - infantry, medic, mechanic, whatever.
