Is Utah mid west or west?

Utah is a western state.

The term "Midwest" refers to the states of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin that are all located east of the Mississippi river. Some sources include Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri but those all form the western shoreline of the Mississippi. In some circles, Nebraska and Kansas are even included, which ignores that both are "Central Plains" states. The "Northern Plains" states are usually defined as being North and South Dakota.

These geographical reference labels were developed and taught widely in US schools during the 1800's and 1900's.

It is amazing to this contributor how Utah, which is almost entirely west of the Rocky Mountain range could be considered anything but "West".

Will the state of Oregon extradite from the state of Utah on a misdemeanor warrant?

Realistically, in the budget crunch that all states are undergoing these days, they MAY not want to bother with bringing you back for a misdemeanor offense - HOWEVER - that being said - it cannot be 100% counted on to save you. All US states and territories honor each other's requests for extradition - there are no 'safe-haven' states - It is impossible to know with certainty whether a particular state will choose to extradite you for a particular offense, or not, there are simply too many variables. It may depend, in part, on the offense and the seriousness of it, and/or how badly they want you returned - most states WILL extradite for felony offenses.

Why is it a good place to live at Utah?

I'm a senior in high school and I have to say the schools are really safe. You don't hear much about drugs, people aren't showing porn to one another. And where I go for high school, as a student body we try to focus on the positives, big on anti-bullying, and big on making friends. Another good thing is that we have the high uinta's. Miles and miles of untouched land, loads of history and legends, rich with minerals, and stories of Nephite gold. Then you have southern Utah which has a totally different climate than northern Utah which gives you a whole bunch of variety when it comes to what weather you want to live with.

Utahs state bird?

California GullThe official state bird of Utah is the California Gull, adopted in 1955.

Input on this interesting choice by WikiAnswerer Zanbabe: The choice of State bird for Utah isn't weird if you know the state history. Salt Lake was settled by Mormons, and early in their settlement they had a cricket invasion. :) The crickets were eating all the crops, and they thought that they were going to starve. They prayed for help. The seagulls came... ate all the crickets, and some of the crops were saved. They have a statue of seagulls (The Seagull Monument) in downtown Salt Lake, and it is still a popular story told to Mormon kids and to Utah tourists. Seagulls hang out around the Great Salt Lake, and you can see them flying around in Utah frequently. So, not too strange. :)
