It depends on the type. Some forms of vampires do have a pulse, but some don't. For example, the vampires in Twilight do not have a pulse but the vampires in Queen of the Damned do. Really, it depends on the species

If someone is suspected to be a vampire, but you are unsure you must first determine if they are truly a blood sucking demon. To do this, offer them a walk in the sunlight, if they refuse then make some spaghetti with garlic and try to get them to eat it, if they refuse to do this also ask them to go to church with you on Sunday. If they also refuse that then they are Vampires. The things I mentioned earlier are in fact some things that can kill a vampire. Sunlight will burn them alive, unless they are day-walkers(most are not so do not worry.) Garlic will burn their insides, it might not kill them but it is enough to hold them at bay so you can get something that will kill them. Holy water and crosses also works like garlic, a large amount may not be enough to kill them, but will in fact give you those extra seconds you need. If you really want to kill them dead, you need a steak. Not the meat kinda steak, but like a sharp pointed stick. Stab them directly in their heart and DO NOT remove it. Have fun Vampire killing.

Vampires are immortal, meaning they can live forever. that is unless they are gruesomely attacked by a fellow vampire. Others believe you can burn them and they would die.

They are called werepire . Usually an equal balance of werewolf genetics and vampire genetics. In some cases, one set of genes will be more powerful, resulting in a slightly more advanced wearpaire. If the vampire gene is stronger or more dominant, the wearpaire will have a stronger craving for blood. If the werewolf gene is stronger or more dominant, the werepire will notice more of an affinity with the lunar cycle. To become a werewolf, you must be introduced to the alien genetic material which will manifest itself within the host. The same goes for becoming a vampire, or have the venom of a vampire enter your bloodstream and spread throughout your body. depending on the amount and the person who has been infected, the change can take anywhere from a few minutes, to a few days. Never in my 623 years of life, have i seen a transformation take longer than four days.

I am just adding this.in my 8999 (almost 9000!) years of life i have seen many werepires like this including me. it doesnt make any difference between the two though you woukd have all of the powers for both ----

I call them werepires. The same term could apply to half-vampires, half- other were-beings like werecats, werefoxes etc, in theory. As "were" is "man" but "vampire" does not split easily, "werepire" is just the simplest term to apply to anything half-vampire and half-were creature.

It does depend on what you define vampires and werewolves as. Apparently all who have lived over 500 years like to remove other people's answers... >.> Has to make you wonder if they're feeling insecure about something.

Dracula is based off of the murdering torturer vlad the impaler. His birth name is Vlad Dracula. Aka prince of Wallachia. All based mainly in Transylvania.

You could get in a lot of accidents and walk away unscathed, or you could be damaged for the rest of your life. You may be able to smell blood and you might not be able too. You could have been changed or born a vampyre; depending on anything, you could have gotten the gene from an ancestor or you could be the first, you could pass it on or it could stay within only you. To a doctor, your blood would seem like anyone elses. You can be seen in mirrors, stakes through the heart will kill anyone, silver doesn't burn, neither do crucifixes, holy water isn't real (just purified bottled water), you can eat and drink regular food, flying is crap (don't jump off your roof - flying may not exist but gravity does - you're not Criss Angel). You can have fangs or regular teeth. There is still no proof of the existence of immortals. A vampyre could be anyone - a geek, a grandma, a mother, a kid, a prep, a friend; even an actor/actress or singer. There never really is a way to know. But human or not, always carry something to protect yourself. Feel free to believe anything written here, considering a vampyre answered it. (;

I suppose that the very first legends began in Europe possibly in medieval times with Vlad Dracul. Though the vampire myths have spread across to countries such as Asia and South America, they all have their own take, theories, and names for vampires. Not totally positive on the year, but it was around medieval times or a little later. The vampire 'theme' goes all the way back into the earliest myths and legends. Consider the concept of the incubus and succubus from Greek mythology. This put the vampire all the way back into the bronze age.
