Victoria Day is Canada's national celebration of the birth of our late beloved Queen Victoria, who was born on the 24th day of May. Her Majesty was our Monarch when Canada was created. May 24th is the date of the national holiday, if that date falls on a Monday. Otherwise, the first Monday prior to May 24th is celebrated as Victoria Day.
