I cannot give you a list of specific makes, but one of mine (the one I use the most) is made in Germany by a company called Heinrich Gill. It is an excellent violin and it is very rich on the lower strings, and generally rich throughout. I believe (I don't have it with me currently to verify) that it is a no. 66. All of their violins are made from aged wood by hand.

It depends on what you want to do with it. Are you a student, a reasonably good amateur, or a professional? If you are a student, you can probably expect to pay around $250-$500 for a starter kit, which includes the violin, bow, and case. A good manufacturer to look for is Glaesel. They produce sturdy instruments of reasonable quality for a beginner. Of course, if the student is young, you may want to rent instead of buy, because they will change violin sizes as they grow.

In terms of a good amateur violin, you will pay around $2000-$4000. This does not include the bow or case. And if you are a professional, the sky is the limit! Stradavariuses can go for millions.

It depends if the violin is flat you tighten the pegs. I f it is too sharp then you loosen the pegs.

Violins are usually categorised by the type of wood that was used to create it. there's a roth violin, there's a German Violin, there's a Stradivarious (in my opinion i don't think that's a type), there's a french violin (that's the type I currently have), There's the Suzuki violin, there are electric violins, there's baroque which is any violin that was used during the baroque period, and i hoped that helped!

Violin 3 is almost like viola, so it isn't very valuable. A solo will up the value, but not by much.

The tops were usually made from Cremona Spruce whereas the back was made of European Maple.

Well, I presume that by 'wires' you mean strings. There are four strings on a violin- the G,D,A and E.
