What is the energy source of the flu virus?
The flu virus is a non-living thing, so it doesn't have its own energy source. To reproduce, it hijacks the cells of a living being, such as the upper respiratory cells of a human, and uses the energy of those cells to make more copies of itself.
What are antibiotics viruses or Monera?
Antibiotics are products made to fight bacteria. The word means anti- (against) -bio (life). Since viruses are not alive, antibiotics cannot harm them.
What charateristics of life do viruses lack?
Viruses are not an organism at all. They are not alive. They are nonliving. They are like cockle burrs that "grab" hold of your clothing or a dogs coat. They are hijackers. Once they get attached to the cell of a living cell, they can take it over and "make" the living cell produce virus particles instead of cell parts. These parts can assemble into more viruses and then they breakout of the cell (killing it) and begin the process again. They can not make more viruses on their own.
They are very small and can be considered microscopic. We have to use an electron microscope to see them as they are that small.
What effect will a virus in lysogenic cycle have on an organism?
It will have no direct effect on the organism ::x:
It will cause a disease in the organism.
What is the failure rate in rabies vaccines?
Seems to me no one knows the answer to this question. Even the CDC doesn't go into detail on this question. I'm starting to smell "The Emperor wears no clothes effect." It would be easy to test. Simply give someone the rabies vaccine shots, then inject them with rabies. It will either work or not.... Every city should randomly do the testing themselves. It would be inexpensive and easy to do. I have a hunch there would be a significant failure rate. Don't believe me ask a pathologist. I did. I even asked many vets and doctors. Everyone of them told me there is no known amount of vaccine which creates immunity. In other words, the effectiveness is unproven and yet, it's hyped to us as a proven science.....

How much do you think the media is overblowing Coronavirus?
There are so many facts that dispute the "pandemic" actual force because the media is overblowing that one simple fact explains why: In 2016, a study by the Center for Public Integrity showed that 96% of campaign donations by journalists went to Hillary Clinton, compared to just 3.5% which went to Trump.
While coverage of President Obama included 59% favorable content among the 10 news outlets compared to 41% negative,
coverage of President Trump has included a whopping 80% of reporting that is negative in tone, with just 20% that is positive.
See this web site: public Integrity for link.
In what year did the Coronavirus start?
We estimate somewhere around December 2019, because that is when it was discovered by a Chinese scientist.
Why could viruses not be seen before 1938?
Viruses could not be seen because the resolution and magnification was not good enough until 1938 when Ernst Ruska developed the electron microscope.
What determines whether or not an organism is a virus in host range?
Well... a virus is "an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host."(Google's dictoanry system) so if the organism has nucleic acid and uses a host cell to reproduce then it is technically a virus. An easy way to tell is look at the classes of viruses and see if the organism follows any of the seven classes (ex. HIV is a class VI virus, SARS is a class IV virus)
That sounds like the classic symptoms of influenza.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the flu season is upon us. It is time now, in the Fall of 2011, to ready for the flu season with an annual flu vaccination.
What are the viruses named that are harmless to humans?
Tobacco mosaic virus and wheat streak virus are harmless to humans.
Is the flu fatal to pregnant women?
Answer: There are many different types of flu, some more serious than others. Most are not typically fatal to pregnant women.
Pregnant women do have extra strains on their immune systems which can make it more difficult for them to fight off some types of infectious diseases. This is one reason that vaccinations are encouraged to prevent the flu in pregnant women. However, with proper care to prevent secondary bacterial infections and to control fever and dehydration, most seasonal flu does not impact pregnant women much more than non-pregnant women.
That said, during the pandemic of 2009, the A-H1n1/09 influenza has shown that pregnant women are more at risk for contracting the flu and for complications and fatality than other demographic groups. Obstetricians are encouraging priority vaccinations for their pregnant or soon-to-be-pregnant patients.
Where geographically is the greatest frequency of Ebola outbreaks?
The countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, have reported 6,553 cases of Ebola as of September 26, 2014, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
An additional 21 cases were reported in the countries of Nigeria and Senegal, the WHO reports, as well as 70 cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
What are the characteristics of the Sin Nombre virus?
Sin Nombre virus, the most predominant strain in the United States, is carried by the deer mouse. This virus was responsible for severe cases of HPS that occurred in the Southwestern United States
Who developed vaccine for rabies and also pasteurization?
Louis Pasteur and Emily Roux for rabies, and Louis Pasteur for pasteurization.
What is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus apex?
HIV causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).
What organisms are infected by a virus?
virus is a small infectious agent that can replicate only inside the living cells of an organism. Viruses can infect all types of organisms, from animals and plants to bacteria and archaea.[1]
Since Dmitri Ivanovsky's 1892 article describing a non-bacterial pathogen infecting tobacco plants, and the discovery of the tobacco mosaic virus by Martinus Beijerinck in 1898,[2] about 5,000 viruses have been described in detail,[3] although there are millions of different types.[4] Viruses are found in almost every ecosystem on Earth and are the most abundant type of biological entity.[5][6] The study of viruses is known as virology, a sub-speciality of microbiology
Do viruses move independently or dependently?
Some viruses can move parts of their body, but most viruses rely on their hosts.
Western Equine Encephalitis virus
When you have the flu how do you get your energy back?
Don't let yourself get dehydrated. Stay well nourished with fruits, vegetables and lean protein. Rest as much as possible. Wait until your body overcomes the virus.
Separate vaccines are no longer on the market in the US as of spring 2015. There is no medical reason to separate these vaccines. Talk with your health care provider for accurate information about the risks and benefits of MMR vaccination.
