What does full guard code mean in 00 Volvo s80?
It means the alarm has reset itself to full operation again - perhaps after a sensor has been turned off. In my case it did it after the battery almost drained down completely (so much so that the door locks would not operate from the key fob, and the remote lights would not come on).

How do you replace timing belt on 1999 Volvo model S80 turbo?
would not recomend trying this at home due to the fact these engines are what is called a interferace engine if not installed correctly you can DESTROY engine same as if the timing belt breaks bends valves and head has to come off engine and maybe replace the whole engine. if cams move while tring to install new belt can also bend valves.
the vehical has to be raised and supported right front tire removed there is a splash shield which can be loosened and held out of the way i use a small pair of needle nose vise grips to hold it. then remove the serpentine belt will need the 18mm special tool to release belt tensioner. once serpentine belt removed remove the two 12mm headed bolts holding the belt tensioner in place they are right next to the powersteering pump pulley. now remove the 10mm headed bolt to the plastic coverover the timing belt housing. don't remove top cover yet will need it to line up the cam timing marks before removing the old belt now go to the lower section where the harmonic balancer is at will need to remove 30mm center nut and the (4 )14mm bolts holding the harmonic (crank pulley) on the 30mm nut is very tight and hard to remove without the assistance of a good impact wrench because there is not really anyway to hold the engine still and you DONT WANT TO TURN ENGINE COUNTER CLOCKWISE CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE !!!!!!!!
If you can remove the harmonic balancer without turning engine backwards then you will them want to turn the engine over to line up the timing marks there is one on the crank gear and one on each of the cam gears (DONT LOOSEN THE CAM GEARS UNTIL YOU HAVE REMOVED THE CAM SENSOR ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE ENGINE AND THE CAM PLUG ) to install the 600.00 cam lock tools to hold the cams inplace to prevent the cams from moving and bending valves!!!!!!!! but the engine needs to be in time before doing that . Will also need a couple of large washers to take up slack to you can put 30mm nut back in place to take up the thickness of the removed harmonic balancer. this is so you can turn engine over. Once you have the timing marks lined up and have installed the cam locks to hold the cams. then the timing belt tensioner can be removed there are two types one has only one 12mm headed bolt holding it which is and auto tensioner and has to be set according to the temp outside if not set correctly will either be too tight or not tight enough which you will need a 6mm Allen wrench when adjusting it to the correct setting the other is a hydralic tensioner which has 2 12mm headed bolts holding it on the new hydralic tensioner comes with a lock pin in it to hold back till the new one is installed this pin is then removed from it and it applies pressure to the tensioner to keep the timing belt tight (only after getting the new belt on correctly does the pin get pulled. also will need to check the idler pulley to make sure its is good usally have to replace becase of being noisy DONT WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE WITH THESE ENGINGES BECAUSE OF BEING INTERFERENCE ENGINES Wondering if you still really want to know how to install a timing belt on one of these engines? well now that you have the cam lock tools in place and the engine set by the timing marks you can remove the upper plastic cover over the cams, now since you don't need the timing marks on them anymore you can remove the tensioner which ever type you have and this will let you remove the old timing belt now the new timing belt will probably have white lines on it when you remove it from the package the dotted line is for the crank shaft gear it has to be lined up with the timing marks which are actually on the upper side of the gear the two sold lines go on the cam gears lineing up with the marks on them if they wont this is where it can get tricky because then the cam gears have to come loose so they can line up right . Oh does you S80 have variable cam timing ? on either the intake or the exhaust if it does well this is gonna take a lot longer because it will have to be readjusted also while tring to put the new belt back on. Really I am not trying to waste your time or mine I am only about hlf way through this procedure if you would like me to contine i will but i don't really think you want to try this at home in the driveway i do this for a living and I wouldn't want to do it in the driveway. hope this helps have a wonderful new year.
Where is the oil filter located on a 2006 Volvo S80?
The oil filter is locate underneath the motor, beneath a plastic shield that covers the entire bottom of the engine. You must first remove all 10mm bolts to remove the shield then use a special wrench to remove the plastic oil filter housing.
Do not overtighten the housing or drain plug. I believe 5.8 quarts of oil is needed.
