What virus makes your Internet go off?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There is generally not a virus that forces you off the internet. There is however a DDOS or Denial of Service Attack that could be taking place on your internet. If someone with malicious intent has gotten hold of your IP and network port (generally port 80) they can send excessive internet traffic into your router which will knock you offline for a while.

How do you make a toolbar button for TinyURL.com in Firefox?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It's very easy actually. First, go to TinyURL.com. To the left of the browser bar (the one you just used to type in the URL), there is a small icon with the TinyURL logo on it. Simply drag that icon onto your toolbar, where ever you want, and you instantly have a toolbar button linking to it. Now, you can right-click on the button, go to Properties, and edit the name, location, and whatever else you want.

Alternately, you can right click on your toolbar and select "New Bookmark", then type in the URL of whatever website you want it to go to.

The only problem is that eventaully you will have goodness knows how many icons on your toolbar and eventually you will run out of room.

You can easily make a bookmarking toolbar in Firefox and organise all your most frequently visited sites in folders. I have a toolbar that has 11 folders containing nearly 80 bookmarks to the sites I use all the time, including article sites and my blogs.

It is very easy to make Firefox toolbar and I have added a link to the step by step guide I made, once I worked out how to do it.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The web browser is a piece of software used to read the HTML and produce that code in the output medium. In most cases, that medium is visual, but some browsers are text-bases, or "screen-readers" that read the content of the document aloud (normally to aid the visually impaired.)

For visual mediums, the browser is responsible for following the instructions contained in the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to produce the proper layout, colors, and actions.

In theory, all browsers should work similarly. However, they've all got their quirks, so being aware of them in very important for a web developer. That way, you can keep the user's experience consistent, no matter what browser they choose to use.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Auto fill, or auto complete, is a preference that a user can use that allows the web browser to remember what info you type into forms, so that when you come to a similar one, it will automatically fill it in for you.

For example, if you are commonly purchasing stuff online, and are tired of entering you address every time, the browser auto fill option can remember your address and fill it out for you, usually with a click of the button.

Every web browser has different auto fill options, but most require an additional addon, such as RoboForms.

Autofill in Excel allows you to identify a series of data and automatically fill cells with the appropriate text. For further information about how to use autofil in Excel please see the related links.
