They are the same thing!!! Timber and atric wolves are just differrent names for grey wolves. This is actually my question! lol someone asked this same question but the answer said that the wolves were differrent! RESEARCH PPL!

Yes i am from north carolina, they only wolves that live here are red wolves, they live in the backwoods near the beach. Red wolves are smaller then a gray wolf, they look more kinda like a coyote.

Gray wolves in the wild reach sexual maturity at approximately 2 years of age, and usually have one partner for life. The mating season is in late winter, when the female is in estrus, better known as being "in heat," for about one month. During this time, her and her partner will mate for the most part of this month to ensure that conception occurs. When a female does become pregnant, she will most likely return to her previous birthing den, where she will stay for the majority of the pregnancy. The pregnancy, or gestation period, of a Gray wolf usually lasts any where from 9-11 weeks, an average sized litter being 5-6 pups. However, a wolf may have as many as 11 or more pups in a litter depending on factors such as food abundance.

In the common sense, wolves can not be tamed. They don't subjugate themselves to humans in the way that domestic dogs do. Wolves can be coaxed to accept human companionship but only as equal partners.

Wolves will usually protect their territory by marking it with their urine, just like dogs do. If there is a larger threat, e.g. bears or humans, then they are usually more likely to try to find a new territory. Usually, predators will just fight with each other if they can't find a wide enough range to stay away from each other, like if the area becomes deforested a lot and humans start to move in. Otherwise, they will tend to avoid each other's home areas. Predators are very sensitive to each other's smells, being able to instinctively avoid areas where there are lots of genetic rivals to them. It's done with pheromones, a substance produced by their bodies that the other animals can smell.

Because they are endangered. Because of Europeans. Yes, i am sure you are wondering what Europeans have to do with this. OK, story time. Once upon a time wolves lived happily in the USA, when along came a bunch of Europeans. And those Europeans brought some stories along with them, like little red riding hood, and three little pigs. And the Europeans told those stories like wolves were BAD, and were going to kill us ALL! So the people got scared, AND KILLED ALL THE WOLVES! So now there are no wolves in the USA naturally. you know, this reminds me of a poem, and I've listed it here, it's a long poem. but please, read till the end. It's a poem called, Men are Murderers:

He stands alone at the top of the hill,

And sings his mournful cry,

His mate and pups are missing,

He's not certain why.

He had been out hunting

Was only gone for a day,

And hurried back with empty jaws

Wolves are mated once for life

That was many moons ago

And they have not come back,

But he will not stop hoping

For the reunion of his pack.

He now knows men are murderers

But still does not know why,

And every night he climbs his hill

And sings his mournful cry.

I cry every time i read this poem. for it IS so true. Wolves dont mess with humans, not even if they have to, that was also a poem, by me.

the only reason why we still have wolves here is because the last people who care about wolves have resantly made a trip up to canada, and brought back some wolves into yellowstone national park. currently there are three living wolf packs still in yellowstone. and a few wolves traveling through oregon and california. so please, help the wolves, donate, but if you can't all you have to do is warn people not to kill them, you may even save a life.

I agree with the first response. Beside , predators are very high-tasting. This should only be contemplated in an extreme survival situation. Pray none of us ever has to find out.

There are many different types of symbiotic relationships wolves have. But one that is more general is their mutual symbiotic relationship with Ravens. Wolves watch ravens for food or signs of danger. For instance, if the Raven is circling around, the wolf knows there is food. Then Ravens, in turn, will rely on the wolves skill for food. Sometimes they don't even touch carcasses where a wolf isn't around.

For number one it is well known that Steve Coogan only purchases the most blood-thirsty combine harvesters and so they are subsequently high on the food chain. They feast on orphans and garden gnomes. It's natural predator is a tractor owned by Dale Winton.

Number two is low on the food chain as all of the band members were composed of apple crumble.

Number three mainly feeds on slugs as it is the only thing around him that is edible. Although I have occasionally thrown him a sock to chew. He seems to enjoy my socks.

Technically, since the carbon dioxide does have weight, if you could somehow procure an unopened can/bottle of soda that is somehow flat, and another can/bottle of soda that is carbonated and took the masses of the two, the amount of CO2 would be the difference in the weight. Usually meat needs to be "trussed" to be held together.
