no. i have bipolar one and i also take xanex for my anxiety that goes along with this disorder. xanex is not to help control unstable moods it is used to help panic attacks and disorders causing someone anxiety, which can be presented by a tight chest and fast breathing, light headiness, nausea, vomiting, fainting, crying easily, irritation, panicking, twitching, and fear. these are all caused by high stress levels or a stressful situation and will hit you like a truck going 80. however, if you have high anxiety levels, you can be emotional and taking a xanex may calm you down, which in turn may seem like it "controls" your emotions. when in fact, this is just the anxiety wearing off because of the xanex doing it's job so your emotions are not as noticeable.

However, speaking from personal experience, I don't think you will get withdrawal symptoms from taking 2mgs a day for three months. I think you have to be using a lot more than that, to get withdrawals.

It could be as they are all used for different things - tolerability of medication varies a lot from person to person - I am assuming the Xanax is .25 mg per day. There is a once a day xanax and adderall which may keep the levals steadier and be easier to comply with. The first answer is more correct, although, it is likely not safe in the dosage indicated. With such a stigma on these drugs for potential abuse, it is doubtful that anyone would ever medically prescribe this full combination, however, there have been cases I've witnessed where extended release forms of both Adderall and Xanax have been prescribed simultaniously with beneficial effects.
