Really? Actually, it depends if you believe in the supernatural. Or, you could be just watching too many movies. More or less, no.

There have been no zombie outbreaks ever, as they are fictional. But no proof exists otherwise.

Edit: Who is to say that it is not possible at all? Apparently Jesus was able to revive people who were in a known dead state, and he himself had walked 3 days after his death. (Apparently) So who is to say that when your body dies and your brain is still active, that there is not some sort of chemical or what not that can revert your brain to its primal state of the need to feed? Even possibly get up and walk around? Or "reanimate"?

Diffrent Edit: Actually in 1932 i think it was Florida had a Hurricane First one ever recorded. it appears that it rained and stormed causing carnage and destruction, with floods, the floods carried diseases that plueged rats and other pests, the rats were on the islands outside of Florida and the rats plueged the people, witnesses thought the people were just Hurricane survivors, but soon after they died of the pluege. it appeared that the pluege was turning them violent and Dangerous. so it can be possible but i don't think it could happen.

-I respectfully disagree. It is not impossible for a human to become a theoretical zombie. A human does not necessarily have to be dead to be a zombie, but only act as one involuntarily.

-Ancient voodoo in Haiti used to put people in a deep sleep with medicines that would slow heart rates to a near stop. They would eventually wake up with the effects of being knocked out (not knowing really anything) and walk as if they were undead.

-Viruses, cancers, or baciterias can infect the human brain, permanently disabling many motor skills and brain functions, and enabling other instincts such as cannibalism (Which no one can deny is existent in even our own cultures), thus creating undead-like creatures, namely zombies, but not necessarily meeting all the prerequisites of being a zombie.

-Normally, a zombie would have an imaginary virus in its system named 'Solanum' (Max Brooks, Zombie Survival Guide) that would infect a humans bloodstream and kill them within 24 hours. About an hour after they die, they would be reanimated with the virus still in their bloodstream, as well as controlling their brain. This is the classical classification (excuse the alliteration) for a zombie.

i strongly believe that zombies are much better than werewolves, a. zombies are much better to escape from than a werewolf, b. zombies are just funnier, the way the stumble around mindlessly! It's true humour at it's best! c. Werewolves... kinda boring... hairy men that look like dogs...not so much boring as disturbing.... Well this is just my opinion! lol zombies don't eat brains. the human skull is far too strong for a human jaw to break, plus, zombies just bite any part of your body they can get. if a zombie ate your brain, you wouldn't reanimate (all organs in the zombie's body is dead exept the brain, so that's why you have to shoot 'em in the head) because without a brain, nothing tells your body what to do.

anyhow, why do zombies bite people? and why do zombies never attack other zombies? well, because the virus reconfigures the brain to a whole new function, running on instincts rather than thought. the virus also adds another instinct to the zombie, which somehow can tell humans from zombies.

Zombies do not and cannot exist. It is biologically impossible, because once the brain dies, then everything dies. Plus, zombies always have had missing limbs and organs, which would have already rotted away, along with any other major organs, making a zombie biologically impossible, therefore, no one knows what happens if you get bitten by a zombie.

The simplest answer would be to remove or severely damage the head, and this works in many instances. However, decapitation or brain removal may not remove the mobility of the body or any separate limbs. The surest method is immolation, burning up the body entirely. (In some cases, setting a zombie on fire may only cause a mobile fireball.)

Another suggestion: landmines. The explosion caused will rip the zombie to shreds, which makes it quite harmless. Grenades, rocket launchers, or any other type of explosive can also work. (Again, be wary of body parts that may still be moving.)

If you ever find and take down a zombie, do not:

1. Leave the body there

2. Bury a body that still has its head, arms or legs still attached

3. Sit down next to a body that you shot only once or just whacked with a baseball bat or something like that

If you ever find and take down a zombie, DO:

1. Shoot it twice in the head

2. Take the head, arms, and legs off

3. Burn it

4. Make sure it doesn't move again when you kick it

Zombies typically die with a bullet to the brain - most of the brain is destroyed anyway because of the disease. Decapitation will only immoblize the zombie's body, the head, on the other hand, is still very much alive. The only downside to shooting it is that if there are other zombies, that will attract them.
