What do atoms of group 17 elments give off when they gain electrons?
Atoms of group 17 elements (halogens) give off energy in the form of light when they gain electrons. This process is known as electron capture, which releases energy as the electron moves to a lower energy level.

Can zombies survive in Alaska?
If a zombie could exist, the brain would have to remain alive in order to send neurological impulses to the musculature in order to ambulate. Brain and musculature both would be the only systems still getting oxygen, delivered by the animating Z-factor, probably by osmosis, but nowhere near as efficiently as a functional cardiopulmonary system.
A human body, even a dead one, is still about 90% water, and water freezes in the winter when the temperatures drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Zombies have no body heat, so they would freeze solid, including moisture in their brain. When water freezes, it expands, so any fluid in the brain or around it such as the subarachnoid area on the surface of the brain would freeze and cause rupturing of the brain tissue and extensive trauma, destroying the zombie in all likelihood.
Even if they could somehow survive such brain trauma, they would be frozen solid, unable to move, and would be easy pickings for any human with a weapon.

Edit: as much as I like answers from my Contacts, I need to clarify a point about clothing. Clothing is not inherently "warm" - it is inherently "insulate. A jacket cannot "warm you up" if you have no body heat for the jacket to trap and conduct back to you. Clothing also reduces skin-to-air loss of heat by minimizing conduction and convection of air currents over your skin, but that doesn't help if you have no body heat in the first place. No offense, I just had to clarify that point
What happens if you add H20 with C20?
When you add water (H2O) to carbon (C20), the carbon will not react with water as carbon is a non-metal and does not typically undergo reactions with water at room temperature. The water molecule may interact with the carbon surface through weak interactions like hydrogen bonding, but there will be no chemical reaction between the two.
Zombies are typically depicted with decaying or disheveled appearances, but their hair color can vary depending on the portrayal. While some depictions show zombies with green hair, it is not a universal characteristic of zombies.
It's rather implausible, but it is entirely possible, at least in the "infection" sense, rather than the "dead rising from their graves" sense.
It is not entirely implausible that a bacterium or virus might mutate in such a way that it infects human brains and overrides, cuts off or destroys higher brain functions, leaving some of the more primitive systems intact, like recognition patterns, the drive to eat, motor control, etc.
Some of the chemical processes associated with death may result from the disruption of normal metabolism or brain function, such as the onset of rigor mortis and decay. Such would result in the lurching, stiff-legged walk often associated with zombies in fiction (e.g. Shaun of the Dead, as opposed to the fast, vicious zombies of 28 Days Later).
This could be a complex, unlikely mutation, or it might be rather simple, there isn't really any way to say. The benefit of being able to spread quickly to new hosts (although the overall infection might be rather short-lived, as zombie populations die of starvation) would be very advantageous, and of course, unwitting, like when cold viruses cause sneezing, which helps spread them to new hosts.
Something like a zombie infection is already taking place in some ants, in the form of the Lancet Fluke. This parasite actually infects the nervous system of the host ant, causing behavior suicidal to the ant but necessary for the reproduction of the fluke. In principle, then, zombie ants already exist.
What would happen if a ghost saw its zombie body?
If a ghost saw its zombie body, it would likely be surprised and confused. Ghosts are typically depicted as spirits of the deceased, while zombies are reanimated corpses, so seeing their own body in such a state would be unexpected and possibly disturbing for the ghost.

Zombie powder is a real poison that causes most body functions to shut down. Psychological symptoms are similar to a stroke or concussion: incapable of thinking clearly, easily persuaded, TERRIBLE judgement, and almost total amnesia, to name a few.
Zombie powder lowers a person's resting heart and breathing rate to an almost imperceptible level. If the 'zombie' stayed completely still, any hospital would pronounce them dead.
There IS a possibility of the zombie brain keeping all of the following (mostly) intact: Motor control, Speech recognition, Memory, while destroying most other functions. There's a few differences between these and so-called 'virus zombies:'
* They feel pain. * They possess no supernatural abilities, just ~1/3 what they had in life. * They hunger. They may not feel hungry or know how to feed, but they won't go on forever. * They may possess fears, dislikes and wants. * They may recognize people from before they were poisoned, and even associate emotions with them even though they may not remember the memories that caused them -Nick
Why is your shower water turning your hair green?
