What is it like to wear a woman's girdle daily?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In a word, addictive. I started wearing a girdle in my twenties and I still do. My preferred style is a high waist open bottom girdle with suspenders and stockings. My RAGO 1294 fits the bill perfectly. Yes it is restrictive because it is a boned girdle but I soon got to love the feeling of support it gives me. It isn't noticeable under ordinary male clothes (or a ladies jumper and jeans which fit better over a girdle) so I got quite used to wearing a girdle all day. I really can't go without a girdle now so I guess I'm dependent on it for support.

What education does a costume designer need?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To be a costume designer you at least need an associate degree in fashion design. However, while pursing a degree you may want to considering volunteering at local theaters to help them with their costumes. Since costume designing is such a competitive industry you may want to think about getting a degree in costume design (commonly called production design). The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising offers an associate degree in costume design (though an associate degree in fashion design is a prerequisite). Savannah College of Art and Design offers a 4 year Production Design bachelor's degree program as well as a 4 year Fashion Design bachelor's degree program. Many other colleges offer a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and by working with that colleges theater department frequently you will be able to make yourself highly qualified to be a costume designer. I am on the path to become a costume designer myself, I am double majoring in Fashion Design and Production Design at Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall. Good Luck, I hope you find this helpful.

You can research colleges and universities by name, or by programs of study, or by geographical location, size, or combination of part or all of them etc. The site will provide you with a list of institutions based on your request. It will give you the schools background, accreditation, degree offerings, programs of study, entrance requirements, tuition and fees, financial assistance, room and board, athletic programs etc. and a link to each institutions official web page. What are the working conditions of a fashion designer?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends... If you've got a small business of your own with few to none employees the work load can be overwhelming, money is often an issue for smaller design companies, long hours at the office weekends included and it's important that you've got the know-how to manage more the just the design. You will be a part of the production and the business aspect as well. However if you work for a larger design company you will probably just be in charge of the fashion designing. This is usually also time consuming cause you'll work on multiple collection at the same time. Always need to be able to meet your deadline.
