Begin by removing the connector from the back of your VW drivers side indicator light. You can remove the light bulb by pushing it in and turning at the same time. Reverse the process to install your new drivers side indicator light bulb.
Look under the bonnet. Behind the headlamp there's a big plastic cap that looks a bit like the lid off a jar. Unscrew this about a quarter of a turn, remember how it goes back on before placing it aside. There's a little bulb in it's own hole. Pull the whole thing out of the headlamp. Now pull put the bulb, then refit the new bulb. Push the fitting back in, screw on the big jam jar type cover, then test the lights. It's quite an easy jog, but don't forget to remember which way the cover came off otherwise you might have to fiddle around a bit.
At the rear - the transmission end - of the engine. Down low. Often hidden under a heat shield.
