How do you replace a 2007 Vibe cabin air filter?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The cabin air filter is located under the ft. windshield cowing. To replace the filter you have to remove the cowing. (Ford has had a lot of good ideas over the years but no easy access to this filter is not one of them)!

1) Carefully remove the windshield wiper arms (be careful! You cannot find new ones for this car). Don't forget to pull out the stop on the arm (like I did) that holds the wiper arm in place on the spine.

2) Unscrew the cowing to remove it. Then remove the cowing. The filter should be visible on the passenger side of the car.

3) Unscrew/remove the filter.

4) Put the new filter in. You might want to inspect the wiper transmission at this point. They ware out quite often. (Yet another good design for this car. Who ever got the bright idea to cold head the pivot to the motor drive arm was a complete nut and did not understand how to design machines).

5) Replace the cowing and wiper arms.

7) Job done.

P.S. I got my cabin filter at Rockauto (for about $20.00). I also got a new wiper transmission complete with a new motor for $35.00 off the internet. Total cost about $45.00 with shipping. I also think my old one could be repaired using a shorder bolt for about $1.00. At $45 though, I didn't think it was worth it. Next time (and I am sure there will be a next time) I will repair the old one.

What size wrench is needed to remove brake caliper bolt 2005 Pontiac vibe?

My girlfriend has a 2006 escape and I ran into the same problem trying to change her brakes and none of the Allen wrenches fitting. The '06 needed a 9 mm Allen, so I'm assuming the 05 would need the same?! Good Luck!

I have a 2006 Tribute, 4wd, discs on front and back. I just did the brakes today. Front calipers are 9mm, back ones are 7mm.

Who is the girl in the Pontiac commercial?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you mean from the 70s/80s "You got it, Pontiac!" commercials, she's a Canadian model. I remember reading an interview article about her in a magazine, can't recall the details. I believe that the model's name is Debbi Ducharme

My name is Davey and I just wonder if the OP might be incorrect.... I wondered about this for quite some time and thought it was a toss up between Mariska Hargitay and Rachel Ward. I didn't see any info on Wikipedia about Hargitay doing commercials whatsoever... but Rachel Ward DEFINITELY did some car commercials... So can anyone confirm one way or the other??

Davey here again... another possibility might be Sela Ward....

How do you change the Amp in 2004 Vibe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The amp is located under the passenger seat. You have to remove 3 bolts/screws that hold it in place to the floor. There are four 10mm bolts holding it on to the bracket and then you should be able to remove it. Of course you will need to unplug the two plugs attached. FYI there must be problems with these AMP's as I had to replace mine too.

How do you change map reading lightbulb in Pontiac vibe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

We need to replace ours also in a 2003 Vibe recently purchased. The local Pontiac dealer (not the place we bought it from) said their parts catalogue only lists a part that includes the entire map reading lamp assembly (cover, lens) as well as the sun roof controls and bulbs. They did not have individual bulbs listed at all. We are going to go to the local parts store and find one that works. I will post the bulb number if we find one that works. The bulb is like a #57 but is much brighter, needs to be 10 watts. I have not, so far, found a replacement. The 57 works but is dim.

How do you change rear window wiper blade on 2007 Pontiac Vibe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

See sources and related links below for wiper blade installation videos and information on the special rear wiper blade (its hard to find at most stores).

1. Buy the correct-fit replacements. The 2007 Pontiac Vibe takes a special 11" rear wiper blade for the special rear arm. You may have to go to your dealer or you may want to look into "Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blades" that fit these new special arms - you can find them online. (there may be others available too)

The good news is - specialized rear arms do not automatically mean the wiper blade is difficult to change - it just means you need to get the right blade for easy (and successful) installation.

Correct replacement windshield wiper blades are not only correct length, but also correct attachment. Never just buy by length only. Always lookup your vehicle in an application guide at the store or now-a-days you can 'lookup wiper size' online. The key to an easy install is correct size/correct part numbers.

2. The new replacement wiper will have step-by-step, illustrated instructions.

3. Most wiper replacements snap off and on, do not require tools and take approximately 2-15 minutes.

4. Consider upgrading your front wipers to the newer-style, frameless beam blades. They have many engineering and performance improvements.

I haven't fixed the problem totally but the disturbing noise stopped for me after I turn on the "recycle air" button under "a/c" button. Now when I turn it off the noise starts back up so I just have the air off but always have that button on. I would love to know the way to fix it for real...

The Vibe's odometer only goes to 299,999. Anything over that you will not be able to verify the mileage.

i have a 2005 vibe base model, with 5 speed manual transmission. i drive it about

23,000 miles per year (mostly highway) and it now has 102,000 miles. only problem

i have had was the fuel pump went out at 63,000 miles. i change oil evey 5,000 miles.

runs just fine.

I have a 2003 1.8l GT that we ordered new while stationed in Germany. This car was "driven" like a car was made to "European style" by both my wife an myself. I am ashamed I've neglected this car as far a routine maint. is concerned and w/ over 102k it just keeps going. I've told the kids they are each getting a used one to go off to collage w/!

Could transmission make your vibe steering wheel shake?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not likely. I had a front-wheel drive car and the manual transmission started flying apart (sounded like a helicopter under the hood) and it didn't affect the steering wheel.

More than likely the problem is a wheel weight has fallen off causing the tire to be unbalanced, this makes the tire vibrate as you drive thus causing the steering wheel to vibrate.

There is also the chance that you have some suspension damage but if you haven't hit any curbs or deep potholes it's probably not suspension related.

Also make sure your tires are full inflated, mushy tires can cause all sorts of driveability problems. My rule of thumb is, go by the MAX inflation pressure on the side of the tire MINUS 5 or 6 pounds (ex. MAX 50psi - 6psi = 44psi. Tire pressure increases a bit as you drive).

My vibe only eats tires when I slam on the gas or come to a stop too fast, its all in the way your drive you car. But as far as the other one, I have an 04 ponitac vibe and within the year of owning it, it started to eat my cd's literally give them back to me in pieces or not give them back at all. My best suggestion is to either go get an after-market CD player or an I-pod

How do you change a serpentin belt on a 2003 Pontiac Aztek?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

very easy, even for an idiot like me. Have a helper is essential for the extra hands. Can be a 10 min job

buy new belt (25 bucks), and buy (or loan) belt tool (autozone loans them for free)

remove tension from belt by pulling pulley towards you. remove old belt re route new belt except except for tensioner, relaease tension and flip it over (heres where the 2nd person helps)

Check out the details on autozone.com
