Perhaps the question asker is referring to the ignition coil module that feeds to the distributor. This coil is mounted to the passenger side of the intake manifold with (2) 10 mm hex screws. Replacing this is a simple matter of unplugging the electrical connections, unbolting from the manifold and installing a new coil in the reverse procedure. Please note that the '99 suburbans still used the 5.7 liter, L31 RPO engine and are different from the pickup truck line which had already switched over to the new 6.0 engine line.
