Hello, the trans from a Olds is a BOP trans I think that stands for Buick Olds Pontiac and the vega's is a Chevy design they may have a different bolt pattern, I know that really doesn't answer your question but it brought up another why? I think the V8 would eat that trans up, I'm putting in a V8 in a Vega and they do not recomend that swap so I think that would go for the Olds too. you can use a trans adaptor (TCI part #230000) to go for B-O-P engine and use a Chevy trans, but I would pick another trans, vega trans are weak.
