This must be a vacuum hose, with a connection to the intake manifold, at rear of carb.
This must be an after-market distributor because the original "Lean Burn" computer did not have a vacuum advance distrib. The vacuum was connected to the computer that controlled the distrib. advance. these setups, one made by Mopar, kit #P3690426, by passed the computer and is vacuum operated.
It is screwed into the exhaust manifold on the rear of the engine.
sounds like idling too low udjust it in front of whre linkage hooks to srew it in further
In the HVAC housing behind the glove box.
Pull ine ignition switch out and get the code # (best to take the door lock and trunk locks too) to a locksmith and they can make a key for you. If you have them come out you can expect to pay 150-400+ dollars for their labor and your key.

You'll need to open the trunk lid first. Insert TV. Close trunk lid.
Passenger side of motor at the bottom, coming from the firewall to the front of the car, it is just before the fuel pump.
If your car is running poorly it is more likely the "lean burn system" located in the air cleaner. This is an over done electric ignition that after 20 years is probably shot. NAPA sells the replacement module for $135.00. A MOPAR electric ignition conversion kit #P3690426 is about $200.00 and will fix your problem for good. Don't go into the carb until you try the ignition. I did and it was the ignition system which I replaced and it runs great with the kit.
You should have several belts.
2 for the alt./AC
1 for the smog pump
1 for the power steering
The bad news is, you probably can't. But you can buy a new one for cheap off of ebay. That's what I did, and it worked just fine. The cable i bought was the wrong one but it fit on the transmission. I had to modify the other end to fit under the hood though. It works just fine! They are also not very expensive.
This is a bad answer because the 1987 fifth ave. doesnot have a vacumn advance on or near the distributer! Pull and plug the vacumn tube going to the distributor. Loosen the distributor hold down clamp, using a timing light on No. 1 spark plug (the front plug on the driver's side of the motor) turn the distributor until desired timing is obtained.
Unlock the driver door with the key.
