You have to take the door handle off first. To do so, you will have to pop the little things behind the dorr handle grip. Then take out the screws that are there. Then pop the things in the panel that the pull handle is on. Then take the panel that is by the pull handle off. The rest should just pop off. -Antwon00

Right, here goes.First this to do is to remove the door handle assembly. There are two (or three?) large Philips screws under removable caps around the door handle. Remove these and give the door handle and good pull. It should pull off. Disconnect the power window connectors and place the assembly aside.There should be a couple of screws around the front of the door, and a couple more along the rear edge of the door panel. Pull these out and place aside.Next, jamb a screwdriver between the bottom of the panel and the door frame (at the BOTTOM). The panel is only held in now with plastic clips. Give the panel a good tug along the bottom, and the clips will pull free. Be careful not to bend the panel too much or it will break...After you have freed all the plastic clips (they stay attached to the panel, btw) just lift the door panel UP (it hooks onto the top by the window) and it should come right off.Remember, don't force anything too much. With a little work, it will come off.Assembly is the reversse of removal.

Open the door. Remove all the platic "pops" holding the door panel on starting with the ones on the controls. Remove the contol panel first and unplug it. Then by pulling up and out pull off the door panel. Remove the vapour barrier and the metal piece blocking the big hole in the door panel. The regulator and motor are one piece so you'll have to remove the window by loosening the screws attaching it to the regulator. Then remove the 3 bolts holding the motor and the few bolts holding the rest of the regulator track. Then Install a new (or used) regulator/motor combo and attach the window to it with the adjustment bolts. put back the metal "blocker" in the big hole. Then put back the vapour barrier. Then put back the door panel making sure that the wiring harness is accessible so you can connect the contols. Then put the contols back on and you're DONE!Hint- if you forget where something goes you can just remove the panel on the other door and check where everything goes.

i recently changed the passenger side view mirror assembly on my wife's 2001 ford escort zx2. It should be pretty similar. you have to take the whole passenger door panel off. Pop off the little circle plastic screw covers and unscrew the screws. There are also 2 plastic screws that just pop out on the side of the door panel. Once you have the door panel off, you need to remove a plastic triangle piece on the inside of the door, covering the mirrors screws. It pops right off. There is a piece of foam behind that. There are 3 or 4 screws behind there that you need to remove. That should be it. You can almost get to the plastic piece covering the mirror screws without removing the door panel if you have the right tools. Try it and see first. It might save you some time. Good luck.

You need to remove your door panel to get to the screws (torx type) on the inside of the door. There's a plastic cover that pulls off so you can see/get to the screws. 3 of them as I recall. two close and one set deep. Power mirrors will have a cable that needs to be disconnected.
