I have a 1993 Cherokee (XJ) Country Edition, and this is my experience. 1. Remove the 2 bolts securing the top of the washer fluid reservoir to the frame. The bottom of the reservoir is a slotted tab, slightly rotate the unit towards you as you slide the bottom tab out and lift. There should be enough outlet hose to set the reservoir on top of the engine components to the right. 2. You will see the blower motor attached to a recessed hole in the firewall, with 2 lead wires and a connecting clip. There is also a rubber hose leading from the bottom of the motor to the inside of the vehicle. Disconnect the wire clip, detatch the rubber hose at the motor end, and remove the 3 triangularly-placed bolts around the outer edge of the motor. With a slight wiggle it will pull directly out. Be careful to save the gasket intact, and the 3 metal bolt guides within the gasket, which are not included in the replacement motor. 3. Take off the retaining clip that holds the blower "wheel" to the motor on the opposite side. With special care towards the plastic, separate the wheel from the motor and clean it. [I held the wheel between my knees and tapped the motor out backwards, it was precarious and I'm not sure if it's the best method, you can experiment some here but I didn't feel comfortable using a vise. I got a new motor for $28 at a chain auto parts store, a new wheel is $18 if you choose to replace both.] 4. If the wires on the new motor don't have a connecting clip, you will have to cut off at least half the length of your old lead wires and splice them, or ask your store if a clip is available. Everything else is in reverse - retaining clip back on the old wheel (on the new motor), gasket and bolt guides in place, tuck the new unit in its space and bolt back in place, attach the hose and wire clip. Test the new motor while the washer fluid reservior is still out of the way, just in case. :) Good luck ! Ben T.
