how to replace a blend door actuator on a 1999 ford ranger
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the linkage from the actuator. Remove the retaining nut from the actuator. Reverse the process to install the new actuator.
We have a 2002 Protege so I assume it is similar to yours. 1) Carefully remove the Door Panel 2) Unscrew and remove the Door Lock mechanism 3) Now simply separate the Door Lock Actuator from the Door Lock (The Door Lock Actuator is the part with the wires coming out of it.) Installation is the reverse. Have Fun!
the actuator door is above the actuator motor which is above the floor vent ducts in the middle of the dashboard at the bottom easy fix on F- 150 on a Expedition you have to remove the middle console first to even get to that section of the dashboard.
Replacing door actuator on ml500. How do I remove the outside door handle?
Probably a faulty blend door actuator. Remove the glove box to gain access to the actuator. Replace the actuator with a new one.
You have to remove the door panel by unbolting the handle and then removing the panel which you can pull off if your brave or get a removal tool from an auto store. There is a bunch of little tabs that hold the panel in. Once the panel is removed the lock actuator sits near the rear part of the door, you will have to reach in to get it. It's held on by a rivet that will have to be drilled out to remove the actuator. After you remove the rivet reach into the door, disconnect the wire from the bottom of the actuator then remove the actuator from the rod (there is a piece that comes off the actuator and sticks into the door lock rod). Then to install it is the infamous opposite of removal. Good Luck!
I believe you are looking for blend door actuator???
You will need to remove the dash assembly to gain access to the blend door actuator. Recomend purchasing a shop manual of you intend on doing that job.
You will have to remove the door panel. And it will be mounted over by the door lock on the inside of the door.
remove door panel unscrew actuator pull wire out replace new part
To remove the interior side door panel: 1. remove the retainer screw from the door handle cover and remove. 2. remove the screw from the bottom left corner of the door panel. 3. pull the door panel away from the door, starting at the bottom. Lift up and off the door. Once the panel is off, it is easy to replace bad speakers or inspect / repair door lock linkage. Thanks to the above instructions, I was able to replace the sliding door lock actuator in 2 hours, most of that time involved in figuring out how to get the old actuator free from its mounting bracket and J-hook throw-rod. To replace the old actuator: 4. Disconnect the power plug at the bottom of the actuator 5. Remove the speaker for a little more room to work inside the door 6. Using a long straight-edge screwdriver, pry/pop the actuator out of the brass clip that holds the actuator on both sides 7. Once free of that holder, manipulate the actuator behind all the lock linkages until it is hanging by the J-hook 8. Wrestle the J-hook free from the linkage arm. 9. If you bought a replacement actuator from Ford, it comes with a brass mounting clip; pry the new actuator out as you likely won't need it. 10. Repeat each step in reverse order. 11. You just saved $200 in labor.
