BIG job its a matter of removing the transmision. It's much easier to pull the engine. if you have a two piece rear main seal you do not need to remove the trans. you must remove starter, trans.fly shield, exhust pipe at motor pull it to the side and tie it off. remove all oil pan bolts, remove oil pan.[you must jack up you Jeep from the body, apply jack stands to the frame and let your front end hang down so you can pull the pan out the back do this first before you start to make sure you have the room to remove the pan.get a jeep repair manual and read the rest. i have done 4 like this good luck and hope this helped!!
A Jeep 4.0L has a two piece rear main seal. You have to remove the oil pan and rear main bearing cap to replace it.
Remove the serpentine belt. Remove the harmonic balancer. Pry it off the crankshaft. Install new seal, replace balancer and belt.
Their are 2 main bolts that hold on a thermostat housing for an 1987 jeep cheorkee pioneer!!

$500.00
No it is to big of a cubic inch. But if you have time you can but you would have to redue the main frame and the engine mount.
you have to separate engine and transmission
I would imagine you have to pull the tranny and transfer case, Also that part of the exhaust just to access it.
you need to replace the vacuum.
The main unit for liquid is Liter
You probably need to replace the crankshaft seal
if you spun a main bearing then it is wise just to have the engine rebuilt.it is near impossible to fix mainbearing especially if it caused any damage to the crank shaft.
