...SAME AS ONE B18A1 WITHOUT A VTEC HEAD...The dipstick has 2 dots on it you fill it tell the oil is between the two dots....
It is a integra ls block b18a1 or b18b with a vtec b series head
can you swap a 2.2 head for a 2.2 vtec head? Will it match up with the Block?
yes it will all b series heads fit idk maybe vtec ones dont though if its a stock ls
You have to acquire a vtec head either from a b16 or a b18 (gsr)
It's possible. However, if you're not willing to dish out the cash for a proper build, don't waste your time. A cheaply converted non-vtec motor will not last long and will have A LOT of problems. Hense, if you are willing to dish out the cash, here's a list of the minimun needed parts: -b series vtec head (B16a/b16b/b18c/b18c1/b18c5/...) -new rods (optional) -higher CR pistions to take advantage of the higher flowing head -block girdle (optional - added stability to the block at high revs) -vtec conversion kit (will have to drill holes onto block to feed oil to head) -b series vtec transmission (optional - will help utilize the narrow powerband) -Some kind of a fuel management (Chrome, Neptune, AEM, Hondata,...) Most people think they can just slap on a vtec head and be done with it. It's a lot of work and required some planning. By just slapping on a vtec head, you will not only lose power because of the lower CR but the reliability of your car has just dropped dramatically. As to the "How to do the conversion" there's plenty of Honda devoted forums that talks a lot about these sort of things. Check them out.
There is a difference in a 2.3 non-VTEC and a 2.3 VTEC head bolt pattern. Since the patterns are different, the engines cannot be switched without modifications.
a vtec head, and a vtec enabled computer
yes they all have vtec but it all depends in the year like a 95 civic si hatch comes with a SOHC vtec (single over head cam) and like the 99-2000 have vtec to but they upgrade the cams to DOHC (dual over head cams) witch means its much better than a SOHC
yes but you will need to run an oil line to the head, youll need a vtec capable ecu with a tune, and it is suggested to get arp head studs and pistons from the same head to be safe and do it right.
Yes you can. You can either use your LS block and put a Vtec head on it or you can just swap it out with a GSR or Type-R motor.
you have many different options when it comes to this, you can go d15b7/d16 vtec head (this is a Frankenstein swap where you put a vtec head on a non vtec block), or d16 vtec, or single or dual cam Zc its personal preference, but do not go for the non vtec motors such as d15s and certain d16s research use wikipedia it works the best to find this information
Yes you can, but makes sure you get the oil lines as well as the new head, I recommend getting a b16 vtec head off a 2000 civic si
