Australian citizenship test consists of 20 questions to pass the test, one must answer 75%, or 15 out of 20 questions, correctly. All the questions will come from official book "Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond". Questions will test the knowledge on history, politics, traditions, values, national symbols and English knowledge.

The citizenship test is basically to demonstrate the applicant's ability to read, write, and speak basic English and also their knowledge of US Civics. The applicant

  • Must read one out of three sentences correctly in English

  • Must write one out of three sentences correctly in English

  • Must answer 6 out of 10 civics questions correctly in order to pass the test

The fluency of the applicant in English is determined during the interview. This test is mandatory unless otherwise the applicant's qualify for an exemption or waiver.
