Hi, I have looked at my own and I don't find any wires coming from the rear axle assy. I must assume that you are referring to the rear axle assy. If this is not what you are talking about, please explain your question differently. Another thing to do is go under the vehicle and try and trace what you're seeing and come back with a better picture of what you see. I hope this helps and we look forward to hearing from you. Open the trunk, look up in the compartment, there should be 2 plugs with wires coming out of them, they twist towards the aft end of the vehicle. Twist them towards you and gently pull them out. The bulbs will be here, then change with an equivalent bulb.
you have 4 o2 sensors on the 2002 mountaineer. if you get under the car and look at the exhaust pipe where it goes up either side of the engine you will see it bolted into the exhaust, it has wires coming from it. they are the front 2, the rear 2 are about 2 feet farther to the rear (easier to see)
On the top rear of the transmission is a wire connector with 2 wires. That's the speed sensor. On the top rear of the transmission is a wire connector with 2 wires. That's the speed sensor.
1. Check the fuse. 2. Check for damage to the wires coming from the body to the hatchback. 3. Check the switch for power on both sides when it is ON.
the 8.2 is the weaker of the 2 as the axles are smaller, the 8.5 is a super strong rear end, almost as strong as the 12 bolt.
it is on the exhaust manifold just before the y pipe on the and the manifold meet can't miss it has 2 wires coming out of it and kind of looks like a spark plug on the end
There is 2 big u-bolts on each side of the rear end that hold the rear end housing to the spring pads, sounds like they have broke on 1 side.
there is a small electrical plug on the top of the transaxle; it is directly beside the mount for your clutch cable and near the end of the trans case. it should have 2 wires coming off of it.
It is most likely one of three things... 1 broken strut spring 2 worn out sway bar bushing 3 loose muffler
ground
