If your vehicle is an automatic, I would suggest that your tranny has a blockage in its fluid coupling which may have happened if you received a transmission flush lately. BTW never get a Transmission Fluid flush on anything car with more than 100,000 kms or you will be having to rebuild your tranny in a matter of months. If your vehicle is a standard (or automatic) you could have a gas line blockage, either at the gas filter, which should be close to the fire wall or the filter at the end of the gas line where it connects to the carburater, you may have two on that celica. It will look like a gold cylindrical piece of crushed metal pieces compressed together (its hard to explain), but it will be at the end of your gas line in a housing on the carburater(s). You had best hope this is the problem as it is the quickest and cheapest, if not then you may need to check your carbs for balancing and any leaks from the vacuum lines. Hope that helps. JohnnyB
The Toyota Celica.
A bad fuel line can cause a 98 Toyota Camry to stall during acceleration. This happens when the line can not get proper fuel to the engine.

Start at the fuel filter. It may be clogged.
They are not aftermarket, they just were not done at the Toyota factory. They are factory authorized conversions done in California. I believe the same company may have made GM's convertibles during the late 80's as well.
there is no block heater plug block heaters are mainly used on diesel applications during the winter to help keep the block warm and makes it a whole lot easier to start
That's true throughout any period of time during which the acceleration is constant.
During acceleration? I'm not sure. But when both idling and acceleration the engine's combustion can cause a lot of vibration in the steering wheel if you are in an older vehicle.
The car will act like it has a power loss during acceleration. It may also miss from time to time. It may also not want to idle and can die during idle.
Acceleration means speeding up or slowing down, a change in velocity. Since the velocity was constant, the acceleration was. 0
