Generally, it is thought that cattle were first domesticated in the New Stone Age in Europe and Asia. Bos indicus cattle are wholly domesticated cattle, as there are no records of any wild ancestors that existed before they were domesticated by man. Bos taurus, on the other hand, are thought to be derived from the Aurochs (Bos primigenius) and the Celtic Shorthorn (Bos longifrons).
The first importations of cattle to the West Indies was brought about by Columbus in 1493. Cortez brought cattle from Spain to Mexico in 1519. Colonists from England brought cattle over to America in 1609. Governor Edward Winslow brought a notable importation of cattle over to the Plymouth Colony in 1623. Two years later more cattle were brought to the Massachusetts Colony. Shorthorn cattle and Hereford cattle were brought over from England in 1783 and 1817, respectively. Brahman cattle were brought to South Carolina in 1849. Angus cattle were imported from Scotland in 1873.
Prehistoric cattle originated millions of years ago in parts of India where they then migrated to Europe, North Africa and then Asia. Bos taurus cattle are from Europe, where Bos indicus (humped cattle) are from Asia and Africa.
Cows didn't originate from any specific country. They originated from the Aurochs, which were spread out throughout Europe, with the tropical-type Aurochs found around southeast and East Asia as well as in Africa. The Aurochs died out due to over-hunting, but their closest relatives, the very animals that are selected to give milk that you drink or have on your breakfast cereal every morning, still exist all over the world.
The origin of the cattle industry is the cattle trails because after the Civil War the North was lacking cattle and in the South they were all over the place so people gathered them up and took them up North to sell to make good money thus, the cattle trails and the cattle industry was created.
