The Civic EX has far more standard equipment than the DX, and a different engine.
Not to mention that all the moldings and mirrors are all painted to match the vehicle, and the dx engine is 1.6 Non VTEC (from 96-00, 1.5L non v-tec from 92-95). EX engines D16Y8= 1.6 VTEC to B16A2 1.6 DOHC VTEC. DX some come without Power Steering. The list just goes on. It all depends on the year of the Honda.
See Honda_civic_vp
The difference between the two engines is a Honda civic dx stock engine is 1.6L single overhead cam nonvetch motor and the Honda civi si stock engine is a 1.6L doul overhead cam vetch motor. I'm not positive about the exact number but the difference is about 70 horse power between the dx and si motors
