Hey Lynn==It is probably just tired and in need of an overhaul. It will probably chug along for some time but an overhaul is in order. GoodluckJoe
sounds like you have leaky valve seals. They are letting oil into the cylinder when the car sits still. There are tools that allow you to replace the valve seals without taking off the heads. If you have or can afford the tools, this is the way to go.
bad valve stem seals or oil return holes in the heads are blocked with sludge.
White smoke is a good indication you have a blown head gasket. And/or a cracked head. Did you noticed, when it happened that the engine started running rough? Best i can do with little info.
Blowing black smoke is indicative of an oil leak in the engine.
If the transmission modulator valve is vacuum operated and it goes bad it can allow the engine to suck transmission fluid thru the engine causing the engine to blow blue smoke out the exhaust.
The popping from the exhaust and the lack of power sounds like there is something in the timing. Most likely the timing chain is worn and needs replacing.
The wheel could have pressure on it from a curb or for some other reason. Try moving the steering wheel from side to side while you work the keyswitch. If that isn't it, the keyswitch could have a bad tumbler and you may need to replace it.
It is buring oil this is a wrong answer whe engine burn oil to the exhaust smoke is a heavy white smoke no black
Car maintenance is very important for a smooth ride. When there is white smoke coming out of the exhaust, it is usually an indication of water in the engine.
What's wrong is the lack of oil destroyed the engine.
try and check if you have oil in your exhaust that should be your problem
i have 05 e55amg and just notice white smoke from the exhaust when i start the car and i will drop it off to the dealer to check what the hell is wrong and i will update as soon as i find out.
white smoke is usually a sign of something wrong coming thru your exhaust pipe.Blown head gasket, transmission fluid etc.
Usually a blown head gasket, also there is some white smoke most of the time
U have a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder head or cracked block.. The white smoke is from water getting into the Exhaust system.
If your engine is blowing blue smoke your engine is burning oil.If the smoke is present on acceleration, the piston rings are bad.If smoke is present on deceleration, then the valve guide seals are bad.
Check the O2 sensor located on the exhaust pipe on the passenger side. Could be giving the computer wrong information.
It is possible there is a baad oil leak on the exhaust. Have it checked out. Good luckJoe
Sounds like you need a ring job, white/grey smoke from the exhaust usually means oil is burning in your engine. Your engine may need a tune up or a compression check, bring it in to your mechanic.
