How many miles will the Chevy Volt go without recharge?

This depends completely on the temperature and how fast you drive. In Maine, I have gone as few as 28 miles and now as temps rise to the upper 40's i've stretched out 49 miles. But for this range don't expect to have a warm cabin temperature or to be traveling consistently at much more than 45mph. Being almost comfortable and traveling at and around 55mph, I seem to be averaging around 35 miles. I expect this to improve once the temperature reaches spring and summer norms. Having said this, I can easily maintain 40mpg using the gasoline engine once the electric is depleted.

This car is a significant step beyond the Prius and the Honda Civic Hybrid. If your commute is within 30 miles you may never need to buy gas! After 3 months, I'm completely enamored with this car.

How long does an implied warranty last?

(This answer is based on US law)

It depends on whether it is an implied warranty for a construction defect or a product defect.

Construction defects: The implied warranty at issue is the implied warranty against latent defects. If there is no disclaimer of implied warranties in the construction contract, then the implied warranty against latent defects will last until the end of the state's statute of repose. When the statue of repose runs, the builder cannot be sued for a construction defect. This de facto terminates the implied warranty. Most states set this period at 10 years after substantial completion of construction. Some states have less than 10 years.

Product defects:

Where is the jack and tool kit located on 2500hd Chevy 2001?

If your truck is a crew cab or extended cab it will be under the rear seat on the passenger side. (The seat pulls up) There is a mount for the jack and a bolt sticking up from the floor to which the 3 rods for lowering the tire or jack are supposed to be attached. The problem is that people use the kit and then do not put it back in place so it could be floating around anywhere in the truck cab or more likely, lost-which is why eBay gets $100 for used kits.

Do they make a reverse flow water pump for a Chevy?

Yes and no.

Yes: If you have a reverse flow engine which would be an LTI or L99 which were found in big Chevies, Buicks, Corvettes and Camaros, Then you need a reverse FLOW pump. It is driven by a shaft from the timing gear, so does not have a pulley on it at all. It does not match up with a non-LT-1 block.

No: If your water pump has a pulley it can be either standard rotation or REVERSE rotation. If it is driven by a V-belt it is standard rotation. If it is driven by the back side of a serpentine belt then it is REVERSE ROTATION. This pump will have a pulley that is smooth and wider than a V-belt. These pumps will physically bolt up to the same block but the REVERSE Rotation spins counter-clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. My '93 Suburban has a Reverse Rotation pump because it has one serpentine belt running all the accessories. When I put a new Edelbrock pump on it I made sure to get a Reverse Rotation pump. Your auto parts store genius should be able to get the right pump for you if you know the make and model year.

When trying to do front end alignment- How many inches from back rim to front rim on 92 silverado Chevrolet pickup?

This is called wheel base and varies from model to model.

In an alignment measuring this with a tape measure will just mess you up.

The rear wheels need to be straight ahead in relation to the frame of the vehicle to prevent dog tracking (technically thrust angle). With a tape measure you would pick a perfectly centered point near the front and measure to the axle on each side to see if it was sitting square under the truck. This is not realistically possible. Computerized alignment machines do this somehow if you check the rear wheel alignment.

But strangely the front wheels do not need to be exactly side by side to work correctly. This makes checking the wheelbase useless.

Where is number1 on distributor cap Chevy v8?

The number one plug is the one on the drivers side front of the engine. Therefore the plug wire connected to that plug is number 1 and where it connects to the distributor is the number 1 position on the distributor. If you have removed all the plug wires then you will have to remove the spark plugs, turn the engine over until the number 1 cylinder is at top dead center (TDC) on the compressions stroke. Once it is at TDC then the rotor inside the distributor will be pointing to the number 1 position.
