The absolute location of Chicago is 41.8819-degrees N and 87.6278-degrees W. Chicago is in the state of Illinois, in Cook and DuPage counties. Chicago is the third most populated city in the United States.

In my opinion Chicago is known for very few things that are truly original to the city.

-Historically:

The fire of 1871 which burned down a huge chunk of the city and during the massive reconstruction the first skyscraper was built in 1885.

The 1920s was known for a lot of famous gangsters.

-food:

There is the Chicago style hot dog:

The hot dog rests in a pepper bun and topped with mustard, onion, sweet pickle relish (often a dyed neon green variety called "Nuclear Relish"), a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers, and celery salt

Of course, you have the Chicago style deep dish pizza:

A buttery crust up to three inches tall at the edge, slightly higher than the large amounts of cheese and chunky tomato sauce, acting as a large bowl.

of less importance, but also original to Chicago are dishes like the jibarito, Italian beef, and aquarium smoked BBQ.

-Of course, Chicago has sports. Every big city has sports. whatever.

-Chicago does have a large amount of museums, but so do most cities. The ones that seem to really stand out:

The Field Museum. This place is the be all end all for American archaeological museums.

Because the water tank has to be in the air so that the water can be pumped to it's location easier and faster. With out the tank being built on a tower or hill the water will take a long time to pump and get to it's location.

Depends on which airport you are flying into, but non-stop expect anywhere from 2-3 hours of flight time.

Both airports have excellent public transportation to downtown Chicago.

Either one really. O'Hare has more flights, but Midway typically has lesser expensive flights. I live in the far North suburbs, so Midway is farther from me, but I will often use Midway because of lower fares. I also find that Midway is a bit cleaner and more organized than O'Hare. This is likely because of it's smaller size.

At the moment it is the Singapore Flyer (165m), though in 2009 the Beijing Great Wheel should be completed and will be larger (208m). There is also the Great Berlin Wheel under construction and it will top out at 175m.

The Singapore Flyer is larger than the London Eye (135m) and the Star of Nanchang (160m).
