Two major tourists attractions in Colorado?

There are museums, the mountains, Bent's fort among others, plenty of parks and gardens, loads of trails, the lakes that are everywhere...and monuments and memorials. Plenty to do in Colorado, just depends on what part your going to. I live here.

I live in CO, and LOVE it. Though it's not good for people with breathing troubles, because of the low oxygen due to high elevation (Denver is 1 mile above sea level), there are a lot to do. It's best for those adventurers with plenty of hiking trails and mountains to ski and snowboard. The mountains are what Colorado is known for. There's plenty to due in downtown denver. The sports teams are phanomenal, especiall the nugget this year...they're on fire! But there are a lot of historical places to such as the museum of nature and science, and the kids museum. Bent's fort offers yummy cuisine and great information. There are some sand dunes, too. In Colorado Springs, there is the Air Force Academy. Colorado has a lot of things. Again, it depends on which part you go to, but every part of Colorado offers something fun.

Mesa Verde,

Pikes Peak,

Great Sand Dunes.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Royal Gorge.

Garden of the Gods

US Mint.

Cripple Creek.

Elitch Gardens.

Being a Texas native most of my life I would have to say Colorado does get lots and lots of snow. More than 400 inches of natural snowfall here is common.

____

Being raised in Colorado, I agree that compared to Texas, Colorado gets a lot of snow, especially in the mountains (where all the ski areas are). However, compared to Montana, where I have also lived, we don't get much at all, and it melts between storms rather than just getting deeper. It is all relative. Denver gets as many days of sun per year as San Diego does. If you like skiing, you can rejoice in the fact that it does get great snow and there will probably be some in the mountains. If you don't like snow, and want to know what it is like in the city or suburbs, rest assured that it usually sticks to the winter and melts off fairly quickly unless there is a freak blizzard, but that happens rarely.
