Ther are at least 2 reasons why a Betta will not kill a goldfish. 1 A male Betta will only attack and fight another male Betta. 2, They should never meet. Bettas are tropical fish and need to be kept at around 78F and Goldfish are coldwater fish and should be kept at below 70F. In order to be successfull keeping any fish, (coldwater or tropical) the basic rules apply. I had a fancy tail gold fish that had his caudal fin eaten almost completely off. It grew back to be just as if not more beautiful than before but it took many months.

If there is a male & female together in a tank, the male will chase the female poking his head against her side & belly to get her to release eggs. If she does, he will then release what is called milt in an attempt to fertilize the eggs.

Then the breeder will remove the eggs from the tank into a shallow container and care for the eggs until fry are born which are cared for until they are big enough for a regular tank.

You should really get a algae eater. Some of the alge killers are harmful to the fish.

it really depends on what type of algae. if its green water algae then use and algicide which you can purchase from aquariums. if it's filament algae then get some snail or algae eating fish. the quickest solution is to scrap the algae off yourself.

Use a filter and try not to give it too much food. Sometimes it won't eat all the food and the water will cloud up faster from the dissolved food. also it depends on the tank if its big one you could buy one of those suker fish to clean it for you they wont kill your fish and you never have to feed them

I believe there are some meds available that "CLAIM" to treat swim bladder problems. From my experience, I have found those claims to be false and I know of no one who has found any reliable cure for swim bladder problems. Gentle raising and lowering of the water temp has also been reputed to work in some instances.

i'v tryed puttting male betta's with other fish and never turn out well (death) and don't put them together but the females do fine with other fish and get along with each other
