What if your goldfishes belly is very extended?
That depends on the type of extension. If the scales are sticking out like a rasp then the fish has a fatal disease called Dropsy. If the fish is just getting chubby it could be due to one or more of many things from constipation through to full of ova (eggs) and ready to spawn.
A goldfish may not physically explode if over-fed, or if too much air becomes trapped in their swim bladder as they are more likely to die from constipation or impaction before they could explode

Does the water need to be heated for a fighting fish?
fighting fish can be in temp. 70 - 80 no higher or lower and use tap water do not use bottle water fish live longer with tap water I had made that mistake by using bottle water fish did not live to long tap water fish lived over two years also if your home is warm you don't need to have a heater room temp. is fine for fighting fish If you live in a tropical, warm place like Singapore or Jakarta then no heating is needed! If you live somewhere colder then try buying a heater. Don't buy an oxygenator though it's a waste of money since they don't take air from the water but from air.
My Bettas can live in either warm or cold water but recently I noticed that when I put a flat heater in the tank he would stay snugged against it.

How do you help a fish with a failed swim bladder?
If by a failed swim bladder -you mean sitting at the bottom of the tank unable to swim to the surface -then there are a couple of options.Try feeding the fish skinned peas(this is if your fish is constipated:the pea works as a laxitive).Try raising the temperature of your aquarium. The fish may have a bacterial infection which should be treated with medication and by using epsom salts.Talk to a vet and see if you can have air extracted from the swim bladder or have a small section of it removed. If these still don't work and your fish truly has a failed swim bladder theres not much you can do. I've heard of a lady in the UK who had a fancy goldfish with a failed swim bladder .The fish was struggling to get to the surface so she tied a very bouyant object to the fish and ever since the fish has been able to swim up and down just fine.I suppose you could tie a heavy object to the fish if it has the opposite problem.Don't give up on the fish: theres still hope even though swim bladder flukes can be frustrating and hard to treat ;0)
alot of times it helps alot to feed fissh that have swimbladder problems peas.

How many betta fry fish will hatch and live?
Bettas lay from 60 - 500 eggs and if ur not careful all of them could dye from the female eating them! They won't all live , either way. So the most reasonable amount would be...............5 - 20. That is still alot but i have fry in my bettas bubble nest , and i see tons of fry so my guess is theres about 50 living in there but , they might dye while im sleeping or away from home because they might come out of the bubble nest [when there old anough] , [ which is about 2 weeks] and the male might eat them , i might end up with 0 out of 500 , so u never know what might happen

Your fish has Ich What do you do to treat it?
Treatment for ich is fairly simple and you can use a number of different chemicals, but the most common three are copper sulfate, malachite green and bromthymol blue. Each has its own dosage instructions, and using all three together is also highly effective. Simply read the instructions that come with any of these products, and it should treat the ich.
Yes!
In addition:
Yes, gold fish are quiet, although some of them like to jump or splash, which isn't very noisy. However, the equipment used to aerate the aquarium can be noisy, but it's usually a "white noise", one that is continual and can be ignored or people get used to hearing it because it is always on.
Not neccessarilly. There are some very well bred fancies that are slow to colour up.
Is it ok to keep a black moor in a fish bowl?
It is definitely NOT OK to keep a Black Moor in a fish bowl if you wish it to live and grow. Fancy Goldfish grow into large fish of around 10 inches or so in about 12 to 18 months. They should be kept in a properly filtered planted large aquarium. (If not a pond) The basic fish keepers rule is 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. Taking into consideration that a fish tank is normally filled to within 1 inch of the top and also has a couple of inches of gravel on the bottom to grow plants in, a 15 gallon (nominal) tank would only contain about 10 to 12 gallons of water. That means a Black Moor should be in a tank with a minimum (nominal) size of 15 gallons not a bowl. Actualy when you think about it, no fish should ever be kept in a tiny container like a fish bowl it is cruel.
What do fishes use in getting and eating food?
They use everything they have evolved to use to help them hunt for food. In the case of Bettas, they hide amongst the floating (and other) plants and strike suddenly thereby surprising their prey.
