The numbers have ranged from 1900+ to over 2500. Some of the MIA's have been recovered by finding crash sites and returning the remains to the U.S. which is contributing some to the changes. Probably now there aren't many left due to horrible conditions, age, disease, etc.
Statistics still show over 1,500 US servicemen still MIA.

Although the goal of uniting the Korean peninsula under communist rule was unsuccessful, North Korea and its Communist allies still consider the conflict a victory because North Korea's government survived and exists to this day.

China got involved in the war because by that time, UN forces had gotten pretty darn near the Chinese boarder, and they didn't want a UN force right at their doorstep. So they invaded and started pushing the UN all the way back to the 38th parallel

Member countries of the UN supplied troops and war materials to aid South Korea.

The border between north and south korea is like the most heavily armed border in the world! I mean that they have gazillions of land mines buried, an electric fence that is so long and soldiers there who are armed.

MacArthur used the tactic of a flank attack at Inchon Korea.

General Douglas MacArthur was placed at the head of UN Forces in the Korean War (which was the conflict that resulted when the UN acted to thwart North Korean aggression against Seoul and South Korea generally.

If by "Vietnam War" you meant the war in Vietnam that involved direct US combat forces then the year 1964 can be used as the year that war actually began. That was 11 years after the end of the Korean War in 1953.

The Northern Communist part of Vietnam came out victorious, they declared Independance and even to this day they could still be partly Communist

India was a crown colony of the UK until the end of WWII. British India was never conquered by Japan; although the British/allies did stop the Japanese army at Imphal in 1944 which was as deep as the Japanese army got into India during the war. After WWII, the British simply granted independence to India (no longer a crown colony).

Vietnam was taken from France by Japan (no matter how politically correct historians want to word the conquest, it was taken) during WWII. When WWII ended in 1945 Japan relinquished her conquests, and Vietnam was one of them. When France attempted a return to Vietnam, the nationals (Vietnamese) resisted (called the 1st Indo China War or French Indo China War). That war went on from 1946 until 1954.

The Korean War ended during the administration of President Eisenhower.
