They are NOT poisonous, they are constrictors. Do some research. I personally have never had any agression problems from my snake even during shedding, but he does hide more. I would recommend leaving your snake peaceful while shedding, (and my friend has never had any from his).

A cornsnake bite is not really some-thing you need to worry about anyway.

Their teeth do little damage and barely hurt, the only problem would be the shock of the fact it did bite you.

Corn snakes eat a variety based on preference. Mice, rats, chicks, baby bunnies, quial eggs, etc. Somtimes a snake will refuse to eat anything but what their particular taste calls for. Sometimes this is trial and error, which can be frustrating. I and most herp owners recommend frozen then thawed mice/baby rats for an adult corn snake. Chameleons have very long sticky tongues that they can shoot out of their mouths for a long way. They remain very still and when they see an insect near them they move very slowly towards it rocking back and forth to look like a leaf in the wind. When they get into range, their tongue shoots out and sticks onto the insect which is then drawn into the chameleons mouth and swallowed. The process is fascinating to watch!

Eels are in a different scientific profile, also all eels live in water whilst not many snakes can survive under water for there hole life. Eels are just one colour, snakes can be any colour. Ect.

Corn snakes like most colubrids and will musk (release a very strong scent from their glands in their vent) prior to biting if found in the wild. If the snake is captive, the more you handle it the more "tolerant" it will become and by virtue will bite and musk less.

No. A heat lamp or undertank heater should suffice if the room the tank is in is below 65 degrees F. Uv lights are usually for more fragile reptiles, such as chameleons. The heat lamp(if that is what u choose to use) cannot be the only source of light for the snake, though. They will need other sources of light, which they should be exposed to already if they are played with regularly.
