Is it wise to buy refurbished electronics?

Yes, I would say so. They are usually returned for a small defect that is easily fixed and put at the back of the shelves with a significantly smaller price tag. I bought a refurbished iMac 20" 2.66 gHz CPU for $1300 instead of $1500. I would say that was well worth it. If, however, you are asking about Microsoft, I have no idea. You never know with them

Are port expanders made for specific computer types or are they generic devices that will work on any computer?

A port expander, or more commonly know as a port replicator or docking station, is generally computer specific.

A port replicator does not introduce new hardware, but merely a means to give the port a physical connection. The connector between the computer and the port replicator provides an electrical conduit between the device it's self and the port.

There are USB port replicators, but these devices do not offer the same functionality as a true port replicator, because they are limited in speed by the USB port.

Are the Internet is true or false?

Internet is a new form of media a lot of it's conventions and other things have not been developed yet . The Internet has expanded the selection of news sources.

How is the internet harmful?

It's had both bad and good effects.

Bad:

-it's dangerous: cyber stalking, etc.

-it's bad for us: people spend hours staring at the screen instead of outside. The result is eye strain, headaches, obesity...

-spelling, grammar, etc. is ignored on the Internet and proper English is dying out

Good:

-we can keep in touch through email, forums, etc. with people from around the world

-information such as news is instantly available at the touch of a button

-it's useful for research, checking our stocks online, booking flights, etc.

-it's oh so convenient, allowing us to shop at home, check bank balances without going out, etc.

In general, the effect on society has been largely good. However, many associated problems such as the lack of quality control and technology's stranglehold on everything have compensated for the good effects.

What are the functions of a radar?

To detect, track, and sometimes identify objects via the emission of radio waves.

Speed radar (like those used by police) can detect nearby objects and calculate their speed.

Weather radar can detect the location of clouds and rain.

Air traffic radar can detect and track unidentified flying objects. With the help a monopulse secondary surveillance radar, the radar system can identify the individual planes.

Higher technology radars can detect and identify distant small objects with great precision.

many items we use today are a result of modern technology. out cellphone, microwave, vehicle, Internet are all the outcome of scientific discoveries that brought in our community by the great efforts of our inventors or engineers that tried their best to bring a peace living or people to live comfortably. ........

How do you widen the cells on Microsoft Excel?

What you do is widen the column, as an individual cell cannot be widened by itself. There are a few ways of widening a column. The simplest is to the the cursor between the column headings at the top of the worksheet with the column you want to widen being on the left. So if you wanted to widen Column A, go to where A and B are at the top of their columns and put the cursor in between the headings. If you do it correctly the cursor will change to having two arrows, one pointing left and one right, coming off a line in between them. Then press and hold the mouse button and drag to the right and column A will widen.

Another way is having put the cursor in that position, to do a double click on the mouse. If there is any text in a cell in that column that is wider than the cell, the column will adjust to that width. the third way is to go to the Format Menu and pick Column and then Width.

Why do you need a power supply?

Power supplies are need by many electronic devices for several reasons. Most devices need one or more DC voltages. Only AC power is available at a common household outlet.

Power supplies, among other things, usually must convert AC power to DC power.
AC = Alternating Current
DC = Direct Current
VDC = Volts of Direct Current

Computers, for example, need a power supply to convert 120 VAC line power to 6 VDC, 9 VDC and possibly 12 VDC. You will understand this more fully once you get further into the study of things like trigonometry, the calculus, basic circuit design, etc.

How big is dell inc?

How big is a dell computer?

How lte works?

What is LTE?Long Term Evolution or LTE is a wireless broadband technology, designed to increase bandwidth capacity and data rates facilitating enhanced mobile applications and better performance. Marketed as 4G, it is considered as the final step from previous technology, thus the name Long Term Evolution. The main advantages with LTE are:
  • High throughput
  • Low latency
  • Plug and play
  • Improved end-user experience
  • Low operating costs
  • Seamless
How does LTE work?LTE operates on the radio frequency and the cellular network to transmit voice and data. The optimal radius of a cell that one base station could supports is up to 100km. It uses pre-coded version of OFDM for uplink and normal OFDM for the downlink. OFDM or Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex transmits data in closely spaced carriers to transmit data, enhancing spectrum flexibility and cost-efficiency.

Furthermore, LTE networks has backwards compatibility with the previous technologies like GSM and UMTS that makes low operating cost and wider coverage possible because it could operate without discontinuity where LTE coverage cannot reach. Enabling seamless passing from an LTE base station to the existing deployed networks reflects substantially on better service and cost efficiency.
