They did not really know each other that well before marrying. You will never really know someone who has hidden that kind of terror for years. She was intrigued with his story when reading about it but, to be around the psychopathy of the hurt from day to day is another story. Everything revolved around him...everything. Before she died in 1992 (I belive), he talked to her once after he was taken away from her, he talked to her, it was at his father's funeral. His mother, as usual, was degrading and belittling him....

You can hate everybody and everything on this planet, but YOU lose!'.** *NOTE: that was from his book, A Man Named Dave and, when they talked, I belive she tryed to hit his face, but he stoped her with his hand and grabed her hand, and said he forgave her.

A average body temp is 98.6! Your 3 year old is just probalby a little cool ! take it a couple more times to make sure that just isn't her temp !

Kenneth Pelzer a.k.a Kevin was the youngest brother of David (Dave) Pelzer. David being the second oldest of five brothers, Kevin being the youngest brother. In 1995, Dave Pelzer wrote the book called "A Child Called It" (an autobiographical memoir of an abused childhood).

With your permission your child can do just about anything he wishes. However, you will have a legal responsibility to care for him if he needs it. If your state has early emancipation laws, then you could petition the court, and with your permission, and provided that he is capable of fully supporting himself, emancipation would likely be granted. Unless he's been in trouble with the law, which is generally an indication to the court that the child is in need of supervision. If emancipation is granted by the court then you would no longer have any responsibility for the child. It is quite possible that "child abuse" laws in the 70's weren't very well addressed. Not that it is right that she got away with torture, degradation, neglect, abuse, etc.... The father should have been arrested just as much as The Mother. How can anyone do these things to another human? How can someone allow it to happen? It is too obvious that The Family was living in denial of what David was suffering.
