In my case, through recreational drug usage of 4-methylmethcathinone (known more popularly as "mephedrone") - a legal substance, and interval dosages (at prescribed amount/rate) of generic-Adderall (instant release, not XR), I had found myself turning purple in the hands, and my veins had become more pronounced, and more visible in the skin.
Mephedrone is considered a cathinone, a phenethylamine, and an amphetamine.
