In some ways no. Al Gore is a communicator, not a scientist, and may have overstepped the mark in a few minor matters. The key points are correctly put, particularly that global warming is real, that it is substantially caused by human activities and that it bodes ill for the future of our world unless we take decisive action to stop it.

One claim in the film was that ice on Mount Kilimanjaro was receding as a direct result of recent global warming. In fact, local factors are more likely the main, or only, reason for that change. Some other claims may in time prove to be true, but were made in the film before scientists were sufficiently confident to support them. To be a commercial success, the film had to be, in part, entertainment, and shows emotional images that could be out of place in a pure documentary.
