What are the costs of building an amusement park?

Theme ParkThere is hundreds if not thousands of items to go over when starting ANY business, especially a theme park.

This would be a nonexhaustive list but I'll try to list what I think could be the most important aspects:

First and foremost, land. How much land will you need? A plot of land say the size of Disneyland or Six Flags WILL cost several million dollars, and that's just the land. A "Family Fun Center", a place featuring "Carnival type rides" and miniature golf, for example, will obviously cost significantly less for land.

How will your park look? What kind of park do you want? What kinds of rides? Those decisions will decide if your park will be "family friendly" like Disneyland or "teen friendly" like Six Flags.

Let's not forget all those staff members, and the labor you will have to pay them in order to keep those restrooms clean and your rides in good working order.

You will also need to think about liability, and what you plan to do in the event of a roller coaster accident or even worse, a death on a ride.

You will need to advertise your park, so people will visit it. You will also need to think of what you can offer people that other parks possibly haven't thought of yet.

If I may make a suggestion, I suggest picking up the game "Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 or 3", and in this game you can build your own theme park. You can probably get a ROUGH, ROUGH, idea of what it takes to build and maintain a successful park.

Do military spouses get in free or get a discount at Six Flags Over Texas?

Military members get in free with an active duty ID card at the Six Flags over Georgia so I don't imagine it would be different for the other parks in their chain.

I just asked for the one in Arlington Tx and they just give you a discounted rate. its 42.99 for active duty their dependents each. You can check on post to see if they have better deals for them.

What three forces drive a roller coaster?

A 3 wheel locking system, it works by one wheel on top of the rail, one wheel on the side, this wheel helps it go around curves, and 1 wheel on the bottom of the rail, these are called up-stop wheels that prevent the roller coaster from flying off the tracks. This 3 wheel locking system sort of hug the rails to lock the roller coaster train to the rails.

Are carousels and merry-go-rounds the same?

According to Holly Marie Combs in an episode of Charmed called Forget me...not, "A merry-go-round has lots of animals. A carousel only has horses." This is not actually true; carousel and merry-go-round are synonyms. Although most people, and dictionaries, consider carousel and merry-go-round to be synonyms, there is a distinct difference to amusement ride manufacturers. Carousels turn counter-clockwise, while Merry-Go-Rounds turn clockwise.

Why does your body feel like its going up when roller coaster is going down?

The seat is moving downward and is no longer exerting the same upward force on your body. Gravity is pulling you down, but your body is falling at almost the same speed as you would if there was no roller coaster under you. You are nearly in "freefall" until the coaster turns back uphill.

The momentum that you receive from the moving car is almost entirely horizontal, but some fast coasters do impart a slight upward velocity to you if they suddenly turn downward.

What is the scariest ride at Six Flags?

WDW frightening attractionsIf just really depends on what frightens you! Don't you just hate that kind of answer? But it's true. One attraction that you love might be very frightening to others. So here's a summary of what makes some of the WDW thrill rides thrilling, arranged in the order of my personal "scary" factor:

First Level of Frightening: Mission: Space: Dark, indoors, closed space, spinning motion. Rock N Roller Coaster: Dark, indoors, high speed roller coaster with "launch", three inversions.

Second Level of Frightening: Tower of Terror: Dark, closed space, multiple drops inside high tower. Space Mountain: Dark, indoor roller coaster, kind of a rough ride compared to newer coasters. Haunted Mansion: Dark, indoor ride with ghost characters and loud noises.

Some people find Star Tours (dark, motion) and the Maelstrom (dark, troll characters) frightening. Some small children are even frightened by Snow White's Scary Adventure (dark, witch).

There aren't really terrifying rides. Everyone's different. for some people they might be afraid and say that the Haunted Mansion is scary while others will say The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Thrill Seekers say nothing, of course.
It naturally depends on your sensitivity level, but Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror certainly can be considered the most frightening rides.
