nobody knows but the numbers of unwanted horses keep increasing more and more every year.

In the US, unwanted horse populations continue to increase because there are no slaughtering facilities in country. Unfortunately, this leads to problems such as abandonment and neglect, because many horse owners do not know what to do with animals that become terminally ill or aged.

I believe it depends on what kind of animal shelter you go to. There are two different kinds. The no kill and the kill..

If the regular kill shelter then you would have to deal with animals being put down left and right, BUT makes room for more animals to come through. Only problem is in my point of view is this, the animals being brought in to fill in the places of animals that have already or just been put down have a sightly longer life span just roaming free than in a 'kill shelter'.

The no kill is similar but at the same time very different. It has its pros and cons just like the other one. The biggest pro for the no kill is just that, they don't kill their animals. They keep them till they get adopted or fostered then again at the same time if you want to look at it from a negative point of view, since they are 'no kill' then the animals not getting adopted are taking up space for who knows how long from other animals that could be brought in and saved.

There you have it, the pros and cons of both animal shelter types. I for one am for the No Kill shelter but still gave the best pros and cons of both shelters. Hope this helped you.

Testing on animals should be prohibited as they to have feelings of pain and to give pain to any living being especially to those who can not act against it is totally against humanity and is cruelty and also unethetical

It is impossible to answer this question. There are thousands of species of animals. What ones are you asking about? How could we know, given that we'd have to know how many animals exist in total (the sum would be staggering) and how many are experimented on by all agencies that do so. And how do you define "experiemented on." Just physical experiments? Just experiments that cause pain or harm? Behaviour examinations? If a person takes their pet to the vet and they try out a new experimental drug, does that count? You could not posit a more complex question, I'm afraid.

it can hold many animals it depends on the shelter and there policy. for insint if there policy is "accsept any animal" then they can hold from 40-60. but if its a "accsept only healthy animals" then it could be form 20-40.
