What animals do we get fur from?

Fake fur is a type of textile fabric fashioned to simulate genuine animal fur. It is known as a pile fabric and is typically made from polymeric fibers that are processed, dyed, and cut to match a specific fur texture and color. First introduced in 1929, advances in polymer technology have tremendously improved fake fur quality. Today's fake furs can be nearly indistinguishable from the natural furs they imitate. Other naturally occurring fabrics are also used to make fake furs and improve the look and feel of the overall garment. These include materials such as silk, wool, and mohair. Cotton or wool, along with polypropylene, are typically used to make the backings to which the fibers are attached. Rayon, a semisynthetic fiber made from cellulose and cotton linters, is used to supplement acrylic and modacrylic fibers on the garment, as are polyester and nylon. Materials such as silicones and various resins are used to improve the smoothness and luster of fake furs. To complete the look of a fake fur, dyes and colorants are used. If a true imitation is desired, designers match the color with natural fur. However, fashion designers have found that the fake fur fabric has merits of its own and have started using colors and styles that give it its own new, unique look.

The Body Shop does not test their final products or their raw materials on animals.

The company was bought by L'Oreal (which does test on animals), but Anita Roddick (the founder of The Body Shop) was a firm believer in protecting animal rights, and so, in the sale contract, L'Oreal is forced to uphold the values of the original company.

This information is from a retail employee of The Body Shop, who is not obligated to promote company values, but feels proud to do so.

Do people test drugs on animals?

All of them, it is a requirement to test on animals before testing on humans. This prevents human deaths, since it's impossible to know the effect of a chemical on a living body without testing it. Some of the animals used for testing are: rats, mice, cats, dogs, rabbits, monkeys, apes, pigs and bears. There is a growing trend among some scientists to advocate for limiting the use of animal testing to only research that cannot be done with virtual simulation or in vitro testing on cultured cells(test tubes with blood in em, to see how cells react).

A first stage test is now rarely done on lab animals, virtual systems and in vitro tests can substitute for testing on animals when testing to see if a substance is broadly toxic. However, virtual and in vitro testing cannot give much more information than toxicity as virtual models are still limited, and many effects cannot be guessed simply by observing blood chemistry changes. Animal testing still needs to be done to test for things such as the LD50 (dose at which 50% of test subjects die) or more subtle/rare effects, such as 30% of test subjects experiencing heart palpitations, something that you can't find out with blood chemistry or computer models, but that would cause a big problem if it where marketed.

Animal tests can only tell us so much, as their physiology is different from ours, so human testing still needs to be done before something hits the market, and many things that used to be tested for on animals are no longer tested for, and many effects on animals are even ignored because of this, since animal testing in those circumstances realy does not teach us anything useful. Something may cause no effects, or severe effects in rats, but may act completely differently on humans.

As a whole, animal testing has been greatly reduced in recent years, but will probably never be wholy elliminated from the process of testing new drugs, as it is still preferable for most people, to kill a rat, than to kill a human. As our knowlege grows, we will surely reduce it even further.

How many dogs in puppy mills end up in shelters?

It is hard to say the exact number of dogs from puppy mills that end up in shelters, after all when you adopt a dog or a cat or any other animal for that matter you are making a life time commitment to care for this animal, therefore the type of person who will simply give up their dog when it is no longer convenient is not likely to be the kind of person who carefully looks into the ethics of the breeder they are buying their dog from. This means in many cases the owner wont have a clue is there breeder they got their dog from ran a puppy mill and if the owner doesn't know there is no way for the shelter can know. What I can tell you is that 20% of all dogs that end up in shelters a pure breeds.

actually, it's people cruelty that we should stop. animals aren't cruel, they just operate on self-defense and instinct.

What factors that affect a plant or animal lives?

I believe that this is the food chain. Not sure what you mean by "living factors."

Why isn't hunting considered animal abuse?

Abuse is abuse, no matter what species, and abuse has criminal consequences. Hunting for food or due to over population isn't considered animal abuse to many, and many advert their eyes to such practice. Poaching or illegal hunting is animal abuse, because of animals endangered of being extinct. If animals becomes extinct there's a disruption in the food chain, and that will cause major problems in our ecosystem.

Some believe hunting is abuse, but if it were not for hunting many species would already be extinct "including humans". Depends a lot on whether the animal wasn't humanely killed while being hunted or if the animal was abusively tortured before it was killed, that would be considered animal abuse.

What happens if a man has intercourse with an animal?

Technically, it's not 'making love', but just sex. 'Making love" is usually termed for couples that are emotionally connected.

Next, to the question itself. Such a thing goes against standard proper societal thinking. Also there's the issue of health and bacteria. Other than that, it's alright.

Do rabbits get abused?

Rabbits are not the most abused animal. Whomever told you that is giving you incorrect information.

According to PETA, the most abused non-pet animal are chickens. Which are raised in cramp conditions and treated poorly for the purpose of food production.

According to the organisations PetAbuse and Humane Society, dogs are the most abused pet. Cats are the second most abused pet. This is simply because dogs are the most popular pet on the planet. Since more people own dogs than any other animal, dogs find themselves being the most abused pet on the planet. There are other inhumane practices committed against dogs too, such as a barbaric dog meat festival held in parts of Asia.

People abuse animals for many reasons, such as mental health issues, anger issues and having sadistic tendencies.

Do you think make up testing on animals right?

This question calls for an opinion and opinions differ. Do not remove answers simply because you disagree with them.

No it is not. Animals are like humans and deserve to be treated that way.

Nope, animal testing is never right. It harms animals any ways

Their life is like ours. They're suffering and we don't know how they're feeling because we're not them .

No. It is wrong.

Animal testing is right because they can tell us alot of thing about something that we haven't test out yet. For example: If they created a new lotion and haven't test it out yet, and you put it on. After of couple of day, u start having some kind of werid buboes on your skin. You ask your doctor and said that you have some kind of sickness that they haven't know it yet because there is no animal testing. So it would be like the black death. That why there alot of animnal testing to keep us healty and perfectly new eah day because of the testing. So if you care about the animals, god created those thing for us to eat and test on. So who ever going agiast animal testing better read this thing before you open your mouth about animal testing is bad!

I know that animal testing is not the best thing ever and may not be morally right as a lot of people would BELIEVE... but think about it... If animal testing stops...we won't be able to cure diseases. If you were seriously diseased or someone you cared about was seriously diseased you would want animal testing to be able to help find a cure. Animal testing is not something we may want, but its something we need. after all, its not like you're going to give yourself up to be experimented on. Animal testing could be morally wrong, but on the other hand it could be morally right, as it could saves the lives of thousands of humans. Morally right or Morally wrong...There really isn't a definite answer.

it can be either, it depends how strong your feelings are to animal testing.

How do Muslims treat animals?

In Sikhism emphasis is placed on how we treat fellow human beings rather than animals.

The Sikh message towards animals, plants and minerals is to treat them well. This does not mean we worship them or place them on a pedestal.

As animal husbandry has show, if you treat animals well, they will yield better milk and meat.

Some Sikhs eat meat and some are vegetarian. The choice in Sikhism is an individual choice.
