If you gag yourself how much weight well you lose?
It depends, but this is never a good alternative weight-loss method. The acid that's regurgitated not only makes one's breath smell horrible, but it erodes the white enamel off one's teeth, painfully corrodes their esophagus, and makes the person malnourished. Also, as with anorexia, the body initially tries to store fat as a defense mechanism against starvation.
It is a mental disorder that causes physical problems such as brittle bones and malnourishment due to a lack of sufficient food intake and commonly overly obsessive and excessive exercising. People who have anoreixa generally fear obesity and long for control, but there are acceptions. Most people who have this disease are female adolescents. You can learn more by googling it, or asking your doctor.

The truth is:

The offence of supply - in the eyes of the law - can be committed by giving a single tablet to another person.
Penalties are high.
I hope that all that helped. :D
When was anorexia nervosa discovered?
Anorexia was first noted and recorderd officially in the late 1800s. (around 1870 or so.) However, smaller claims stretch back farther than that. Notes say that Catherine of Sienna often refused to eat, and frequently only ate small amounts of food. (Starvation is one of the biggest factors / signs of anorexia.) Also, reports going in to 1600s suggest anorexia through observing people who starved themselves to be thin and such. It didn't become "popular", per say, until the mid- to late-1900s and into the 2000s.

Is anorexia a functional or an organic disorder?
It's functional. Something happened in there life to cause them to say, " i don't think i want to eat anymore, I'm not pretty enough, or I don't deseve to eat." You can alson argue that it is organic because if you are born with chemical imbalances, your brain may lose appetite quickly and tell you to stop eating. Overall, it can be organic or functional if you can give a good argument... I don't know how long ago you posted this but I hope it helps. =)

How long can you be anorexic before you die?
Answer It can take several years (depending on how bad the anorexia is.) Usually anorexic people die from organ failure (kidneys, liver, etc.) because they are not sustaining enough in their diet to provide what the body needs. Lack of protein also can cause lack of concentration and other problems with the workings of the brain. I know anorexia is a hard problem to get over. I never suffered from anorexia, but when I suffered severe panic attacks in the early 1970s my body went really strange and I found it difficult to eat. Food simply didn't appeal to me. I use to sit down in front of the TV to eat dinner (hoping the TV would take my mind off the lumps of food on my plate) but often I was lucky to eat a couple of mouthfulls. My husband was very supportive, but, the more he coaxed me the angrier I got and out of frustration I would burst into tears. Finally, I just decided to not worry about it and I took up my artwork again. Before I knew it I was slowly starting to eat better. I ate normal after that and when I went through menopause I gained another 40 lbs., which I had to shed. In fact, right now I've joined Weight Watchers to shed only 10 lbs. (which I really need to lose) but mainly to get back into proper eating habits. With the rushed lives we lead it's sometimes tough to eat well, but I know from experience that without proper food, lots of water and exercise we can just feel crummy. Anorexia is psychological and the person can be all bone, but when they look in the mirror they see themselves as over-weight. There is medical help out there for anyone that is anorexic and I would suggest doing so before the person is too ill to come back to normal and thus, death.

Is running 5 days a week for 30 minutes and crunches enough to lose weight?
It is certainly a great start. They questions is how many calories do you eat in a day? No amount of exercise will make you loose weight unless you are consuming less than you are exerting. Eat at least 1200 calories per day so you don't convince your body that you are starving, that will slow your metabolism. Overeating is the worst culprit for weight gain. You can choose any diet, even candy bars (not that that is recommended), but don't consume too many calories. Good luck with the running! Try other light weights for your arms, legs and back, this will increase your metabolism and help you look lean.
You are 175 pound how much weight can you lose fasting for a week?
Depending on how much of that 175 pounds is not fat weight, how fast your metabolism is, and how active your lifestyle, you could burn anywhere from 1750 calories to 5000 calories per day. The likelihood is that you burn somewhere between 1750-2500 on any given day. However, after going without food for a prolonged period of time, your body will tend to burn less calories. Also, after a short period of time, the body will go into a state of ketosis (burns muscle instead of fat). Let us remember that your body is a machine that is meant to survive and surviving means being energy efficient. Your body will try to get rid of what muscle it can to save itself extra calorie expenditure, instead opting to save the fat on your body. It feels as though it is starving so it tries to hold onto stores of fat and get rid of the pesky muscle that is sucking down calories. With that said, it is best to not look at fasting as a safe means by which one can lose weight, because one will lose minimal fat-weight. Regardless, this is not the question you have asked. the answer to your question is that you would burn somewhere in the vicinity of 3.5-5 pounds of body weight. You will also likely temporarily lose about the same amount (if not more) in water weight.

How might a parent help a teenager concerned about body image?
There are many things a parent can do to reduce the instances of eating disorders like anorexia in a teen concerned about body image. Most importantly is for the parent to encourage their teen to live a healthy lifestyle. This includes a varried, full diet, and lots of exercise and healthy choices.
A parent should also have positive self-esteem and positive self-image, and try to promote this towards their teen, too. As a whole, a parent can help their teen by complimenting or offering encouragement, and refraining from making mean comments based on physical features, appearances, or weight.
It is also important to know the warning signs, and to get help for the teen if they think that there is a more serious problem.
How do anorexics keep themselves thin?
I can tell you this from experience. Starvation diets don't work because the word 'diet' means for a short period of time, or for a period of time. Starvation diets work for a short period of time, but then once you start eating again, you start gaining weight like crazy. Anorexics lose weight because it is a lifestyle, and it is a permanent thing. Every day, for years, even, their diets are severely limited. But to some anorexics, even an apple and a piece of bread can be a binge. If you compare that to a starvation "diet", it seems like a severely limited amount of food. It's all in the state of mind.
What does being anorexic or bulimic do to your appearance?
Anorexia and Bulemia are eating dissorders, Anorexia is resstricting your food intake aka. starvation. it leads to extreme weight loss, poor growth, poor circulation and loss of bone mass. Bulimia is where you make yourself vomit after eating and leads to large weight fluctations and an increased risk of problems with the heart....
Basicley, If you are anorexic or bulemic then in the end you just look like a walking skeleton, your cheeks hollow and your skin goes grey. once your body realises that you are not giving it food, it begins to use stored fat for energy, and then it uses up your muscles until you have none.
I tried being anorexic, to lose weight. after I ended up in hospital and was forced to eat again, after just 1 week of eating normally, i actually weighed more than I did before. everyone told me that whilst I was anorexic, i looked like hell.... not a good idea
Can you lose 5 pounds in a week from starving?
In the first week of starving youre actually detoxing your body. A lot of people say that its bad, I'm not a doctor or anywhere near, but actually allowing toxins to leave your body helps with losing weight even after you start eating again.
You lose a lot of water-weight first, which is anywhere from 5-20lbs in the first week. I wouldn't ever condone starving for more then a week or so.
A good way of losing weight is fasting once or twice a day every week. This is an easy way of quickly losing without having to exercise, which you should do anyways.
