For many people, nightmares which occur while taking Wellbutrin will stop after they have been on the medication for a while. If the nightmares do not cease or are severe, the doctor will likely try the person on a different medication.

How long does it take side effects to stop after you stop taking zoloft?

I weened myself off of Zoloft over a 6 month period and was down to 12.5 mil per day. I skipped 2 days last week and decided on Sunday to take my dose to alleviate the ZAPS. This didn't work, but I did manage to get into a huge fight with my husband over the PlayStation which ended with me crying for 30 minutes about who knows what. I haven't taken any since Sunday and it is now Thursday. I am still dizzy, tired and the ZAPS are so annoying. I am having a hard time concentrating and I'm super tired. I hope that the withdrawal symptoms go away soon. I'd like to get back to my life.

You need to ask yourself if your sanity and your relationship with your family is worth your need to stop taking this medication...Normally speaking, you do not stop taking anti-depressants once you start them. I do not think it is withdrawals you are experiencing, it is the levels of serotonin that your body is being depleted of. The neurotransmitters are going wacko, because it was as a safe level and you stopped taking your meds. Best thing you could do, is either get another prescription soon, or try another anti-depressant.

How long will side effects from Wellbutrin last after you stop taking it?

There are several habits to consider that are thought to influence Wellbutrin withdrawal. The amount of time the drug is taken, the dosage, individual physiology, and whether a person tapers is all can influence the time it takes for you to recover.

Can you cut the bupropion HCL XL tablets in half?

Hello,

As an aspiring pharmacy student, we are taught never to cut open any tablets indicated with a Sustained Release, Extended Release or Enteric Coated Formulation.

These products are made to dissolve slowly or slowly release the contents of the medication as it passes through your system.

Cutting open these certain medications can lead to an overflow, or increased amount of absorption of the drug into the body.

As per any medication; the higher the concentration of the medication, the more of an effect you will have, in terms of mechanism of action as well as side effects.

You can always contact the manufacturer for more specific guidelines.

Does Zoloft cause weight gain?

My doctor told me Zoloft would help me lose weight when she prescribed it for depression, but it has had the exact opposite effect on me; I have been gaining weight and was so leveled off I was almost emotion free so I went off it cold turkey and am not so hungry but am anxious, achy, tired and irritable. I have noticed a desire to be more active and busy and am also able to focus. I had an awful time with constipation and lack of sex drive..none of which I was told might happen.

How long does it take to get an antidepressant out of your body?

It could take up to 2/3 months to get the drug fully out of your system. Prozac is a long acting anti depressant.

Is Wellbutrin XL a steroid?

Not a good idea. Both lower the seizure threshold, and depending on your dosage, and what types of steroids, your risk for a seizure could skyrocket.

Can you mix Prozac Xanax and marijuana?

You're free to mix anything you want to mix, any time you want to mix it.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that it would never be a foolish thing to do,

or that it would never hurt you, make you sick, or kill you.

What if Prozac doesn't work?

First, be patient. Many antidepressants take 4-6 six to show signs of improvement while newer generation antidepressants such as Lexapro can show signs of improvement as early as one week. Sometimes antidepressants are working but the effects are subtle. Keep a daily journal of your mood and depressive thoughts (such as thoughts of suicide) to track your progress. If you do not show signs of improvement then talk to your doctor about switching to a different one. The process of finding an effective antidepressant and the effective dose of that antidepressant is sometimes so long and laborious that it is easy to lose track of signs of worsening or improvement. A combination of therapy and antidepressants will be the most effective.

Can Klonopin and Prozac be taken 2gether?

I've been taking 80mg of Prozac and 300mg of Wellbutrin daily for two months. Four days ago I added .5mg of Klonopin twice daily. Thus far, I haven't noticed any side effects at all. The Klonopin seems to have kicked in quickly and filled the gap on handling my anxiety (which is why it was prescribed).

My feeling is that stabilizing on a medication before adding others into the regimen helps you find your balance. Starting on more than one medication at a time can make it confusing in sorting out how your moods / stability are being affected, and what is actually working.

If anything changes, I will update this.

Good Health,

Does Lexapro make a person feel emotionally numb?

All anti-depressants have the potential to cause anhedonia (an inability to experience pleasure from normally pleasurable life events such as eating, exercise, and social/sexual interactions), and it may mean that your medication needs to be changed if you had been feeling better and then began having these types of symptoms. Anhedonia is also a symptom of depression itself. It may take as long as 4 to 6 weeks to see any difference in your depression after starting your medication, and if you have not been on it for long, you may need to give it a chance to work. If these feelings are new and are troubling you - particularly if you are having suicidal thoughts - I would recommend talking to your doctor. Together you can decide if you should give Lexapro a while longer or if it needs to be changed. Good luck!

Can Zoloft affect period?

Researchers have found that a small percentage of women taking 20 mg of fluoxetine daily report a lengthening or shortening of their menstrual period of up to four days. But the antidepressant seems to have a beneficial effect on pre-menstrual syndrome symptoms.

Can you take Effexor and meloxicam together?

Effexor has the potential to increase the blood-thinning effect of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This puts you at greater risk for bleeding if you take these two drugs together. Your doctor should monitor you closely. You need to contact the doctor immediately if you have increased bleeding of your gums, heavy menstrual flow, nosebleeds, bruising, dark or red urine or dark or red stool.

Can you take relafen and Lexapro?

Yes, Relafen (nabumetone) and Lexapro (escitalopram) can generally be taken together, as there are no major interactions between them. However, it's essential to consult with a healthcare provider before combining any medications, as individual health conditions and other medications can influence safety and effectiveness. Always follow your doctor's guidance regarding medication use.

Is mirtazapine a maoi?

No. MIRTAZAPINE (brand name Remeron) is a tetra-cyclic antidepressant. Though it is usually prescribed for major depression, there are many off-label uses, most notably to improve sleep-architecture in those with severe and/or chronic insomnia. It also posses anti-nausea, appetite-stimulating, antihistamine, anti-anxiety and strongly sedating properties, et al., though these become less noticeable with time. A notable irony is that at lower doses (<30mg) the sedative properties are greater than at higher doses (>45mg). The reason for this is, at low doses mirtazapine binds mostly with the brain's H1 receptor (the same receptor for which the sedating antihistamines have a strong affinity). At higher doses, however, mirtazapine begins to have a stimulating effect (due to the antagonizing of the alpha-2 adrenergic receptor) which partially offsets the sedative properties.

The initial dose is usually 30mg, and is adjusted based upon the patient's response to therapy; 90mg is the usually the highest recommended dose, although in severe cases, doses as high as 120mg have been found most efficacious.

Treatment for major depression with mirtazapine is recommended to continue for at least four months to gain maximum benefit. Stopping the medicine too soon can cause a return to the depressive state. If side effects are bothering you, do not stop taking mirtazapine; contact your doctor, the dose likely needs adjustment.

Mirtazapine must be discontinued very gradually and under close doctor supervision, as physical dependence will develop over time; this is especially important for patients who have used the drug at high doses and/or for long periods of time. Suddenly stopping mirtazapine may cause severe depression, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, (all dysphoric states) loss of appetite, worsening of allergies and rarely, manic episodes.

Will 2900mg of Zoloft Kill You?

It depends on a number of things, including body weight, drug interactions, and the body's reaction to the dose. The LD (fatal amount) in animals is 250mg/kg. So at 1400mg/body weight in kg it's less likely, though still possible to fatally overdose. Signs of overdose include severe ataxia, coma, decreased heartbeat, decreased state of consciousness, rolling eyes, and seizures.

Even if this does not happen, due to the OD, you're still at elevated risk for SJS, which is fatal in 5 to 35% of cases. If the SJS spreads it becomes TEN which has an even higher mortality rate.

So yes, while unlikely, a 1400mg dose of Lamictal can kill you.

Are there drug interactions with Zoloft and Amoxicillin?

this is definitely a question you should consult with your doctor.

im not quite sure if an antidepressant and an antibiotic would react, but its not the kind of thing to leave to chance.

Can you take Lorazepam with Effexor?

ya that should be ok. i take effexor and perk sometimes

Can you take Zoloft and citalopram together?

NEVER!Coadministration with fluoxetine may significantly increase the plasma concentrations of some tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) especially nortriptyline.

The combination of fluoxetine (or any other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and a TCA such as nortriptyline may potentiate the risk of serotonin syndrome, which is a rare but serious and potentially fatal condition thought to result from hyperstimulation of brainstem 5HT1A receptors.

BTW, I once had serotonin syndrome; it was no picnic! I nearly died.

Is Lexapro a Mao inhibitor?

No - Lamotrigine (Brand name Lamictal) is in a class of mood stabilizers. It's also used for epilepsy treatment. It has no MAO inhibitor effect. Lamotrigine has been shown to be a reversible inhibitor of MAO-A (Ki=15 uM) and MAO-B (Ki = 18 uM). MAO inhibition is possible at doses of 100-200mg/day and this could be a mechanism for the serotonin increases seen with lamotrigine treatment. The binding to the enzyme seems to be very reversible, that is, other MAO substrates can readily displace it. To the best of my knowledge, it lacks any clinically relevant interactions that are normally seen with MAOIs.

Can you mix elavil and Effexor together?

You should be getting interactions information whenever you pick up your prescriptions. Check with the pharmacist, or with your doctor(s). Do not ever mix prescription drugs without consultation with your doctor and then also, a full face-to-face discussion with the dispensing pharmacist. Try to stick to one doctor and one pharmacist. Do not stop taking prescribed medications suddenly and always ensure your doctor is aware of everything you are taking:- prescriptions; over-the-counter products; vitamins; herbs; minerals and street drugs. Do not take other people's medication. Look after yourself.
