How do you get rid of nightmare panic?

Get out your bedroom and walk into another room. It helps to turn on some dim lighting and bring yourself back into consciousness. Have some water or juice..maybe listen to some music for 5 minutes or watch tv for a bit. Read a bit from a book. Take some deep breaths. The key is to get up out of bed and away from the location you were experiencing the panic. Then once your mind is out of the nightmare, go back to sleep.

What phobia is the fear of being hyper?

There does not appear to be a scientific term to describe a fear of being hyper. Perhaps the fear stems from a fear of being perceived negatively, or of not being taken seriously. This is not to say that 'being hyper' is a negative trait. I've worked with many CEO's of corporations and other high paid professionals that would all be easily considered 'hyper' by their colleagues. They were all quite accomplished, both professionally and personally.

If you have severe anxiety and you have recently been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder will taking Adderall and Vistiril together hurt you?

Really, this question is one you should have initially inquired about through you primary care physician (prescribing medical provider) or local pharmacy (Pharmacists are generally up to date on contraindicators and drug reactivity.) If your physician was not aware (ie..not the prescriber of the prescription drugs in question) of all the medications you are currently taking, you COULD BE at risk for experiencing some type of drug mal reaction. It is always wise when going in to see your PCP (or any medical care provider, especially one who has not previously seen you for any condition) that you take any prescription medications (at least write down what you do take) to your appointment and also to advise them of any over-the-counter medications that you may be taking regulary (IE..antacids, pain or anti-inflammatory - as they too may also counter-react or cause some type of adverse reaction.) It would also be wise to ascertain that your medical provider is competent by checking with the APA as to the validity of his or her practice credentials. It is very nice to think that we are safe with whatever these professionals may advise in regards to our health, but it is also important to remember that it is up to us (you and I) in the long run to stay healthy and take care of our bodies to the best of our abilities, because we only get one in this lifetime. I have been under the care of one psychiatrist for ten years as well as my family doctor. I asked both of them to keep the other informed of my treatments and medications. I believe this is the only responsible thing to do. Please note that Adderall is an amphetimine and has the potential for addiction and abuse. Until recently, I was on fairly high doses of Adderall and Klonopin (which is an anti-anxiety med). In combination with my other meds for depression, the Adderall and Klonopin helped me tremendously. The Klonopin eased my anxiety but made me very sleepy. The Adderall not only helped my ADD, but it made me more social, complementing the anti-anxiety med, but it also counteracted the sleepiness that was a side effect of the Klonopin. Bonus. Though I'm not certain how similar Vistiril and Klonopin are, I know they are both used to treat anxiety. Klonopin (generic name clonazepam)is essentially a tranquilizer, the way I understand it and the way it feels to me. Adderall is an amphetimine. This seems counterintuitive, but it worked for me. If the same doctor prescribed both the Adderall and the Vistiril, then you shouldn't worry too much. But to ease your mind, ask your doctor about it. And if that doesn't put your mind at ease, don't hesitate to ask another doctor. A good doctor should be happy to answer your questions about any concerns you have about your treatment. He should not act offended that you question him, nor should he brush off your concerns because he has a degree hanging on his wall and you are a mere layperson. If you feel that your doctor doesn't take your concerns seriously, that he talks down to you, or acts like answering your questions is an imposition, you really need to look for a new doctor. It is important to have a good relationship with your mental health care provider. You should be able to work together...sort of like a team rather than a general barking out orders that are to followed without question.

What happens if you have a panic attack on an aeroplane?

The attack might be bad, but eventually you'll have to calm down! There is only a certain amount of adrenalin your body can make, so you will eventually get out of it. You'll just have to focus on fun things, maybe go and walk through the plane and try to distract yourself as much as possible. Try to think of it this way: Let's say you'll be having a 4 hour flight. What would you be doing if you'd be at home for 4 hours, and you'd have some books, a laptop, your phone and some music with you..? Nothing would be happening to you. So if you can do that, you can do this too! It's not too different! Try focusing on the happy things of it.

Are you bad person because you are afraid of going crazy and turning into a killer?

  • No, not all people who feel they are going crazy and may turn into a killer are bad people, but it is a red flag for some psychological counseling. Many people can feel this way out of frustration, but the normal individuals do not go crazy or kill anyone. They may voice to a friend that they feel like it, but that does not mean they will do it. Some reasons for an individual to feel like they are going crazy and turn into a killer is: Being hurt by one or more people on a constant basis; trauma in one's life; some medications; street drugs; being trained in combat for war (some vets find it difficult to re-enter society after being trained to kill in combat); depression; Schizophrenia (hearing voices that tells one what they should do or not do); stress from life in general; feelings of frustration because the individual feels alone; that people automatically do not like them or, the individual could second guess they are being left out of things or possibly deserve more in life than they are getting. It is extremely important that this individual get psychological help as soon as possible.
