Is apple cider vinegar good during pregnancy?

While Apple Cider Vinegar has been used for many health purposes, there is not sufficient information available, to state whether it is safe for pregnant women to take. Small amounts used in cooking is probably safe, but should be avoided in large doses, such as Apple Cider Vinegar Supplements.

Is the Heinz brand apple cider vinegar as good as Bragg ACV?

User Avatar
Yes. Yes it is. It's all natural and is 5% acidity( acetic acid) just like Bragg. However, the murky "mother" bits in Bragg brand contain potassium. Heinz does not have mother bits and 0% potassium. If you choose Heinz you will need to take a potassium supplement or eat a potassium fortified food. With both you should take a multiple vitamin everyday. Heinz now has a new variety that is very much the same as Bragg...it is Heinz Unfiltered Raw Unpasteurized With The Mother. Just purchased some at Walmart for about $3.

Does apple cider vinegar help digestion?

User Avatar
Apple cider vinegar improves digestion especially in metabolizing proteins. It enhances the action of hydrochloric acid (HCL - which deminishes with age) and digestive enzymes. Digestion begins in the mouth where the apple cider vinegar stimulates the acid receptors on the tongue to produce saliva that begins the breakdown of carbohydrates. Taking apple cider vinegar and water before each meal can help improve the digestive process.

Does apple cider vinegar burn fat?

User Avatar
I have been reading on it and the websites with the diet pills trying to make you buy them to lose weight, swear it works and it's a miracle drug. However, the sites that have facts with no intentions of selling weight loss drugs say that there is absolutely no scientific evidence that it makes you lose weight and most diet pills are scams.

User Avatar
No. Vinegars you might encounter in the grocery stores have been distilled. Bragg ACV has not been distilled. It has sediment that settles to the bottom that, theoretically, contains many of the healthful materials.

Asked in Health, Apple Cider Vinegar

Is apple cider vinegar good to diet with?

User Avatar
A bit of apple cider vinegar in a diet is a good idea. It adds flavor and a "snap" to things. But it should be used in moderation; you don't want to drink this stuff. It will dehydrate you, and can make you sick if you drink enough of it. A little bit is good, though. We use vinegar in different foods all the time, and you see it most commonly in salad dressings and in entrees like sweet and sour foods.

What causes apple cider vinegar craving?

User Avatar
Apple Cider Vinegar, especially unfiltered and unpasturized apple cider vinegar is a superior prebiotic food. Prebiotics are the food that our intestinal microflora (probiotics) need to thrive. Other foods such as cultered vegetables (fermented/pickled vegetables) and young coconut kefir are also excellent prebiotics for our probiotics. For more information on this topic, I found the following website very helpful with researching the cravings I had for apple cider vinegar: http://www.bodyecology.com/07/04/05/apple_cider_vinegar.php I just came off of the Master Cleanse diet after 21 days and this is when my cravings started happening. With such intense cleansing, the digestive tract is severely depleted of the microflora the body needs to break down the food and aid with the absorption of nutrients. These beneficial microflora (probiotics) are essential not only for digestion but also for immunity to parasites and disease. Hope this helps! Rachel

Does raw organic apple cider vinegar need refrigeration?

User Avatar
It is not necessary to keep it refrigerated; it conserves really well because of it's acidity. However, it may develop cloudy residue over time if not refrigerated. It doesn't mean it's gone bad though.

Does apple cider vinegar affect the growth of plants?

User Avatar
Answer There are many folk-cures and hear-say remedies for growing plants, many if not most will end in weakening if not killing the plant, the best recourse is to know the plant, know what type of soil it likes, and what kind of nutrients it requires, (well balanced nutrient filled diet) the simple course of action would be: Plain water, Air, Sunlight [full/partial/defused] and a mild form of fertilizer, keeping in mind not to over water or under water. Another answer Yes it does, Apple cider vinegar can kill plants. It's a great cheap alternative to weed killer. Another answer For distilled vinegar, it depends on how you use it. Vinegar contains low concentrations of acetic acid. Yes, lowering soil pH below optimal levels can be detrimental. This leads to its popularity as a non-toxic herbicide. However, numerous plants require acidic soil. Vinegar will free accumulating minerals from the soil for plants to use, but this will also deplete the soil. Using cider vinegar can counter the effects of mineral depletion. Many use distilled vinegar as means to counter the effects of hard water. For cider vinegar I will quote: The following USDA website indicates that cider vinegar contains some essential mineral nutrients, including significant amounts of potassium (730 mg/liter), phosphorus (80 mg/liter), calcium (70 mg/liter) and magnesium (50 mg/liter). Compare these numbers to those for a Hoagland Solution at the bottom. Note that the USDA tables use units of mg per 100 grams. Multiply by 10 to get standard units of mg/liter.

Does apple cider vinegar go bad?

User Avatar
If you push it too far. Apple cider vinegar, is apple cider that has already 'gone bad' and since vinegar in itself is a preservative, it is not possible for it to become 'out of date' or 'go off'. The worst that can happen is it may lose some flavour over time. I have been using a huge 4 liter container of apple cider vinegar that I have had for over 3 years, it still tastes wonderfull, and I have never had any problems with it. So in essence, no Apple Cider vinegar cannot go bad.
