When you see a recruiter they will ask if you've taken the asvab if you say no they will give you a shortened version of the asvab, I think it was 50 questions total.

The only addition I have to this answer is that the shortened version is called the Enlistment Screening Test (EST). I have taken it, at the Navy Office. yes... you go to nko.navy.mil log in, then you click on the learning tab, then click on ETJ ( electronic training jacket), it will automatically log you in and you must be on a government computer because your credentials cannot be verified on your home pc. once your on your ETJ your there will be tabs on the left that you could navigate through.

this only works your in the navy any other branch you have to locate your own service portal

I wouldnt say its advanced but it is pretty good considering the average score is between 45 and 50. A 61 means a lot more jobs will be available for you. I would say an advanced score is in the 80's and 90's.

That'll pretty much let you pick whatever rate you want to get into, assuming there's room. They'll likely push you for a technical rate (Nuke, Electronics, etc.), so study each rate before making a decision. Remember that even though Nukes get paid great bonuses, they're the first onboard (usually by several hours) ahead of the rest of the crew for getting underway, and the last to leave after pulling into port (again, several hours after everyone else is gone).

Yes a 97 is an amazing score!

I scored a 93 AFQT ( basically fancy language for your overall score). And I have been told by numerous recruiters I have pick of jobs. So you do too
