Has anyone heard of the Young Actors Studio in Tampa?
I signed my son up with this company a little over a month ago and he loves it there! Not only that, he's been signed with a local agency and has gone on several castings for paying jobs with that agency. The Young Actor's Studio is the first place in Tampa that I felt was being honest and straightforward with me and my son, and so far, they've delivered everything they said they would and more!
This is a business that is privately owned and licensed in Florida. The owner lives in Tampa and is very helpful and available to his clients. John Robert Powers is not affiliated with this studio, and if you don't believe that, call the John Robert Powers Corporate office and ask them if there is any affiliation. The poster below seems to me to be a competitor of some sort who is attempting to tarnish a great place with a great reputation.
Oh, and with regards to the "audition list", I know for a fact that they bring in Agents and Casting Directors all the time, and if you're one of their clients and there was an audition, guess what, you would be on the audition list that week. Can we please attempt to post educated answers people?
They are a front for John Robert Powers. You will be told they only have 12 spots available, and are interviewing hundreds. You call back, and suprise, suprise, they were most impressed with your son / daughter. Come in right now to sign up for training $$$$, and we can get you on the "audition list" within a week. As I carefully read the other reviews about this company, I can't help but believe they are "plants".
The poster of the fourth paragraph seems to be a real informative individual - "suprise, suprise"? Was he going for surprise perhaps? Didn't catch that even after his several revisions? Or he could have used the spell check located directly above the save/post answer button...

How do you get a man who does not like to discuss issues to talk comfortably about them?
Try to find a couple's communication class that emphasizes empowering couples. We took a good one based on the book by Sherod and Phyllis Miller, called Talking and Listening Together. They have some good ideas that are practical in real life. They emphasize asking the partner to set a time aside for a talk about a specific topic and provide a way to structure the talk so that it can be productive. Blaming or shaming the other person is not at all part of the process. For me and my partner, we found that Saturday mornings were a great time to tackle tough subjects. The more practice, the more comfortable you get.

When will Disney society have auditions in Memphis?
I dont know but it was supose to be Saturday June 2012.
Hi, Haden. My grandson is 13, too, and he also wants to be in the Theatre. Here is what we have done. I'm sure other people have good ideas, too. There is a Little Theatre here, just like there is in almost all towns and cities. He found out the name of it - googled Community Theatre in -----(put the name of the town here). Once he had the name, he called it and asked about programs for teens that he might qualify for. He is now a regular member of the cast and crew, and has done many shows. The experience is Great, because he has been able to learn all the things that go into a production, and how to work most of the equipment, from the sound board to the lights, from make-up to costuming. Also, he has gotten Great experience. He acts in almost all the productions, and also understudies another part. He has even played an old man, and a girl! (Make up and costuming, you know.). He is also learning to dance, because so many plays have a Chorus. Also, his Mom found a Charter school for the Arts, and made application for him. A Charter School is just like a regular public school. You don't pay for it, like you would for a Private School. But it specializes in something. There are Charter Schools for Math and Sciences, Foreign languages, and lots of other things. They don't have regular boundaries like public schools; anybody in the area who can get in can go. Most Charter schools take applications, usually in the Spring - so now is a good time for your parents to sign you up. If there are openings in your class kids are picked on a first come, first served, basis. Arts schools usually don't have academic qualifications, because they know that artistic kids don't always do well in regular classrooms. My grandson Hated school; now that he's in this school, he can't Wait to get out the door in the mornings. Charter schools are authorized by the government, so there probably is one near you. If not, you can petition the state board of education to start one. I'm almost positive that you've got one near you, though, because Arts schools are among the most popular. So, that's my advice. Find a Community Theatre to join, and check to see if there's an Arts Charter School anywhere around. Even if it's in another town, you can still go to it. Also, Arts Charter schools and Community theatres always have scholarships, or know how to get them, so your further education is assured. Most theatre schools in colleges prefer kids who graduate from Arts schools. Good luck to you. I just know you'll find what you need, and will be as happy as my Grandson is! I'm very interested in how you do. Could you please write me a message on my board here and let me know? thanks. Mojaverose.
Are there any Disney Channel audition websites for UK - mainly London?
well the problem is the UK Disney channel is actually done in America we don't have one over here. so unless you have an agent and could fly to America I'm afraid not but I'm sure you are way too good for Disney channel. Also (I'm not sure how old you are) but a lot of people on Disney channel are late teens early twenties so I don't know. Gd luck with whatever you decide to do
