Can continual lifting cause a herniated disk?
Herniated disks occur when we're older because the disk material starts to get old too. It gets less flexible and sometimes when we lift, even something that isn't that heavy, the disk will rupture. If it pushes out, you probably won't even notice it or feel very much. If some of the material pushes toward the center it can cause quite a bit of pain and discomfort when the disk material pushes on the spinal column. The bad news is, it happens to everyone eventually. The good news is, it doesn't always have to be painful and even if it IS painful, the body can disolve the material that getws into the way provided that you can live with it. If the pain gets to be too great, a doctor can remove the damaged disk material and give you a little relief, but the procedure can be risky. Disc herniations don't just happened to old, run down people. A tear within the fibers of a disc can happen to people in their 20's. Disc degeneration and disc herniations definitely happen to people that don't take care of their spines, but just because it's common, doesn't mean it's normal!!! Humans can go through life without suffering through such incredible afflictions. The spine can be taken care of and maintained by a chiropractor. They are the experts to see first. There track record with fixing herniations is second to none. Save surgery for the LAST resort, when all else fails. You can't unboil a hard boiled egg. Surgery is invasive and permanent. The most common mechanism for disc injury is lifting an object while turning. Although injury often happens when lifting heavy objects, the "straw that breaks the camels back" is many times an insignificant maneuver, such as bending over at the sink while brushing your teeth, or while picking a pencil up off the floor.
Yes, you could be pregnant.
Can pain shots in the lower back cause you to go paralyzed for 6 days from the waist down?
Assuming you're referring to an epidural steroid injection, I suppose it is possible, although very unlikely, to suffer an ischemic spinal cord injury that would be reversible with spontaneous reperfusion.
I'm 37 weeks and am experiencing the same thing. I wake up in the middle of the night with lower back pain and then all day feel as though I have to go, but can't. So I think this is probably normal.
When will labor begin got Bad back pain but not lost the mucus plug yet?
There is never a way to predict exactly when you will have the baby, but severe back pain can certainly be an indication of labor, which could last anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days. I had back labor (DREADFUL), which started as a severe lower back pain at 4:00am. I had to go to the bathroom a couple times (not to pee) which led me to believe it was early labor signs, though I never did lose my mucus plug which I was told is common - not all women do. Unfortunately I was never able to count my contractions - they were totally random, going from every 5 minutes to every 2 minutes to every 30 seconds to every 7 and so on. I considered going to the hospital after about 12 hours but when I called they suggested I wait until the contractions got so bad I just couldn't handle it anymore, rather than sit in the hospital for who knows how long (a friend said it would feel like someone hitting you in the spine with a sledgehammer... she wasn't kidding, sorry to say for anyone who reads this in the early throes of back labor!). At 10:30pm I decided it had definitely gotten to that point. By the time I got to the hospital I was already 6-7 cm dilated. My water never broke - they had to do that - so that's something else I was waiting for that never happened! It certainly wasn't like in the movies! After 25 hours of agony (5 of which were significantly LESS agonizing thanks to the epidural), my perfect, insanely beautiful son was born. But that was me.... Every pregnancy, labor, and birth is different. Just listen to your body and pay attention if you suspect you may be in labor - and if in doubt, call your OBGYN!
What does No definite neural compression mean?
Sounds like a radiologist saying that he doesn't see any signs of squeezing of nerves on an X-ray.
Working under the table - he paid you but he didn't with-hold taxes. He probably didn't pay workman's comp insurance. You can try to sue him - but, you'll have to pay the taxes. You might get in more trouble than its worth.
What causes raspy voice alone with headache's backpain in neck pain?
I'm 75 been having a raspy voice for 3 weeks headache's back pain in neck pain what could this be?
If you are a woman and over over 40, it could be the side effects of menopause. When your estrogen levels begin to fall, chronic fatigue, back pains and so many other unknown ailments and pains begin. If you are within this group of people, have your doctor check your estrogen levels. I found that Estroven, sold over the counter, has done wonders for me.
Good luck.
If I are 3 weeks pregnant is it normal to have low back pain and some low abd pain not cramping?
I don't know if it is normal but I am experiencing the same thing! I also have cysts, I am wondering if it was a false positive pregnancy test! sometimes if the test is neg you can still be preg but usually when its positive, its positve.
Sounds like you should see your GYN and primary care provider for a history and exam.
